A true thrift/antiques shop: three floors (main, upstairs, and downstairs) with a variety of furniture, wares, signs (basement has a vast assortment of reproduction and vintage business signs) statues, etc. There's a large outdoor space with all sorts of random items (though some looked like they maybe should not have been piled outdoors, but I assume it's a matter of available indoor space as to why they are stored outdoors?). I believe I met the owner while there; she was very helpful and friendly. Plan to spend some time here as you'll need to dig through some shelves and bins at times to find some real treasures.
WARNING: if you are allergic to cats, do not go inside: the venue also doubles as a cat rescue (which is great!), and the cats have free reign of the building and grounds. I love cats so this didn't bother me, but some folks may not be able to handle the presence of the cats (I counted at least 8 while there, inside and outside, and you can smell them indoors, so people allergic to cats will probably have an issue.) Some cats are friendlier than others: one was my personal tour guide for awhile on the first floor. :) FYI the cats are available for adoption: just talk to the...
Read moreI went there a few months ago and had a great time looking at everything. It was a good experience except for towards the back smelled like cat pee. I mean I didn’t really mind as it could have just been the amount of cats in the place. I just went in today to find some new treasure and as soon as I walked in 5 steps I felt something on my leg. I looked down to see all these black dots on my ankles. FLEAS I tried to just brush them off and keep walking. As soon as I brushed them off more jumped on me. I kept wiping them off my legs I grew up in the country and wasn’t gonna let a few fleas ruin my shopping but they were non stop. I’m not kidding there were so many fleas I couldn’t keep up with wiping them off me. I made it to the back corner of the bottom level and I stepped on something I looked down and there are piles of cat poop on the floor. I was done at this point and started walking to the front door. I got about half way there I watched the Cheetah print cat literally pee on a Christmas magazine. I will never go back and it’s a shame because that place is awesome beside the fleas and the cat...
Read moreI really hate saying this because I love cats and have cats of my own and celebrate anyone who rescues, loves, cares for, or has cats. But...this is a business. As soon as I walked in I was assaulted with the STRONG odor of cat urine. I can't imagine what any fabric item purchased here would smell like! Towards the back of the first level there was a strong odor of feces/dirty litter box. I walked very quickly through the first level too distracted by the smell, and the poor lighting, to even look at what was in the store. If you are going to have cats in your establishment, you've got to make sure they are not spraying or urinating inappropriately, and keep the litter boxes clean. I will not return to this place and I STRONGLY URGE anyone with a sensitive nose or allergy to stay away. What a shame...shop owning and cat residents can go hand in hand if done cleanly, this place does not do the cats or the...
