This review is long overdue. The owner, Kathy is one of the warmest, friendliest most easy going women I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. If you suffer from body imaging issues the way that I do, run do not walk! Kathy has got you!
She seemed to take great joy in sharing those God-given gifts and talent with her customers and it shows. As soon as I walked in Kathy treated me like she’d known me forever. I’m clueless when it comes to fashion but Kathy a stylist so I didn’t have to know, like a real stylist, the kind that that normally only celebrities or the very wealthy would have access too. Luckily for us, she’s forgone Hollywood to live here and dress us.
I’m quintessential homebody whose a tad bit introverted so generally, I am ill at ease in ANY new type of situation. Both Kathy and her assistant Dawn instantly made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the moment I walked into the door. In no time we were gabbing and shopping like we’d known each other forever. (I thought I was special until I went to visit the shop for the second and third time. She’s that way with everyone lol)
Kathy has curated a whole shop full of fashionable, chic and sophisticated designers in sizes from XXS petites to XXXL, plus sizes. Labels like Tory Burch, Blahnik, Ann Taylor, Loft, White House Black Market, all without the normal high end designers price tag! I’m fairly positive there was nothing in that shop more than $20.00!! She has everything from business-ware to whimsical!
If you, like me and you’ve struggled with body image issues then RUN, don’t walk to go visit Kathy. She’s got you. It will blow your mind how much easier it is to deal with once you are well dressed. I had been hopelessly struggle with body image issues issues for nearly two years. My husband had unexpectedly passed away and, I’d gone down nearly 4 whole dress sizes while grieving. No matter how hard I tried I can not seem to gain the weight back. This current stick-figure does not feel like my “real” body and I felt like I look emaciated in most of my clothes. I know that being underweight might sound like a nice problem to have in theory, but all it is in reality is weird and ugly (at least to me.) I’d given up hope on of eating myself back to my normal weight, so I was just trying to just accept the new “skin that I am in” I’d had little luck until I met Kathy.
No only did she dressed me beautifully she gave me some wonderful advice and suggestions. The best of which was that rather than dreading getting dressed every day, that i could look at it like I was just playing dress up, like I was Barbie dolls. I walked out of her shop that first time with a whole new perspective. All the same since I do not want to stay this weight, I did not want to spend a whole lot of money.
Besides Kathy herself what I loved best were her prices! I could not believe how affordable the prices were! Kathy knew I was working on a budget. Even though her prices were already unbelievable affordable she carefully picked out pieces that were interchangeable so that I could mix and match in order to save me money.
Once I’d found several few cute (interchangeable) outfits Kathy went to work “styling” them for me. This is where she shines! And since her prices are so affordable, I had the little extra to add those little extra touch.Her shop has a huge variety of both more high-end jewelry and costume jewelry that is affordable, even on a widows budget. Kathy helped me pick out matching accessories and even shoes.
This is the must-go-to place if you have a social event coming up, have changed sizes or your just wanting to spruce wardrobe. Or just go if your board and in the mood for some light-hearted, fun retail therapy!
