My family and I stayed here with our timeshare and were beyond disappointed. We are local New Jersey residents and only did an in-state vacation because I just had our 3rd child 2months ago and we didn’t want to travel far. Additionally, the only reason we selected this property is because on intervals website it states Minerals Resort is the accommodation. This was completely misrepresented because when you stay here, you are actually staying at Great Gorge and you are not treated as a guest of Minerals Resort. When you need something from management, you are told to call the hotel but then the hotel staff say they can’t help you because you are not a guest of the hotel. You are told to check in and out at the hotel but you are treated like garbage by the receptionists.

As far as the accommodations: Upon arrival, we noticed the sliding door to the balcony wouldn’t lock or close properly. This posed a problem because I have 2 toddlers and it could be a safety issue if they are able to get on the balcony by themselves. We were also missing an iron even though there was an ironing board. So we called the front desk to ask for maintenance for the door and someone to bring an iron. That’s when we were told, ā€œwe can’t help youā€. So now we there thinking, well who are we supposed to speak to if we need something? Then 2days later after still no assistance, I went to the lobby of the hotel to speak to someone at the front desk in person, she was extremely rude. Instead of understanding my concern, she argued with me for 15minutes and there was no resolution. It wasn’t until the following day that the door was fixed and an iron was delivered- so in total from check in on Friday until TUESDAY for 2 very small things to be addressed.

Here’s how we found out that we were not hotel guests: When you stay here, you can use the pool which sounds great in theory but we are a family of 5 with 3 children under 4. We had to take our massive double stroller each time to the pool because it was a 8min walk from the condo to the actual hotel/pool. Then when you get there, you can’t wheel the stroller around because the pool complex has many levels with steps everywhere. Not easily accessible for strollers, handicap or anyone who has difficulty with steps. There was a side door that goes from the golf club pavilion to the hotel but if the door is shut then you need a hotel key to get in. We asked if we could be provided with a key to access another entrance to the pool to make it easier and were denied because we’re not hotel guests. This conversation was had with the nasty receptionist Kristin at the same time we asked for the iron and the slider to be looked at. We questioned this because if we’re not hotel guests then why can we use the amenities? And if we can use the amenities then why is there no ease or hospitality when doing so? We were then told ā€œwe don’t explain the business model at check inā€. Very nasty and sarcastic comment.

My family and I travel all over. I’ve been to 23 countries. I’ve never been treated so rudely in any of the places I’ve stayed. I never expect luxury in a timeshare - I’ve been an owner for 9yrs but this was by far the worst I’ve ever stayed in. That experience with the staff and getting our needs met completely soured our time there, not to mention the actual units are neglected and not taken care of which is clear by the fact that it took 4 days for someone to come address a maintenance issue. There were dead bugs and we saw a mouse dropping as well. Highly discourage anyone from staying here. You...

As a new owner I am completely disgusted with how this place is being run. Security is ridiculous, the gate is open sometimes making it possible for anyone to get in. I was told upon moving in that my guests had to park in "Open" spots and that I can have 2 personal vehicles. Well I park my 2 vehicles amd my guest goes to Open and they get a "ticket" then I'm told they can't park there overnight mind you I see other visitors parked over night. Then they said I had to move my vehicle every 7 days. We go out of town for 3 days and leave a scooter in the parking spot (daily driver so it is my second vehicle) and one of the security adhered a huge neon green no parking sticker to the bike that I can't get off. Called the office multiple times about this and nobody is addressing ot! I went there with the bilaws in hand showing that I am not breaking any rules and I was told that these rules need to be updated. You can't just decide whatever rules you want to decide when you feel like it! If I could do.is all over I would never purchase here. I have left multiple messages and asked to speak to the Fred the director of security multiple times in the last few weeks and he has bot gotten back to me. I feel it's extremely inappropriate to damage someones property and bot ecen address it! And don't get me started on the twice increased HOA fees in the last 6 months that cover...

Used to go frequently in 200-2005. Finally went back July 2023 in a timeshare villa and the villa and amenities, while are still nice (pools, sauna, cliff jump, grotto), haven’t been updated and are dated as hell. Timeshare villas which are individually owned and rented was gross, stained, dated, and appliances were broken. Microwave and dryer turned on but didn’t produce heat. Balcony filled with dead bugs and cob webs. Stained couches, hard beds, cabinets hanging off walls, hard water stained shower heads, some dust and debris not caught by cleaning service and busted alarm clock (whoever uses them still for the alarm purpose). Mold in clothes washer. Decks at the pool had chipped/faded stain on them, inside grotto paint was chipping, some bar mats I noticed had grime on them. People were there for weddings and bachelorette parties though….bless their hearts. See ya never Great Gorge, it was fun when I was in my early 20s, I have some standards now. Hotel part may be nice, timeshare villas not so much. Photos on the website and online are old or captured at the perfect...
