If you think you are living in a secure neighborhood, think again. Teenage boys living in surrounding neighborhoods ride their bikes into our community to fish in the lakes behind our homes. The CDD owns the lakes and has "No Fishing" signs, but doesn't do anything when contacted about the issue. Our HOA has been told to tell the homeowner to call the Police non emergency number, and not to confront the trespassers. Since they are in no hurry to come, the boys usually leave before any police show up. Then you have to call back and tell them not to send anyone. It's not inexpensive to live here, and I expected that our HOA would at least send someone out to let these trespassers know they shouldn't be in here, or at least call the police and not push it on the homeowners. In the past, they would confront fisherman coming in, but no more.We expect to be living in a secure community, not one where teenage boys from outside the community are allowed to wander around behind your home to fish in the lakes and harass people...
