walked in to the new freedom lanes noticed to bowl one game it is over pirced compared to other bases around virginia and dont offer unlimited bowling days. was walking around to scope out the building being my first time in there since the remodel. i walked into the "great escape" and because i was on leave i had a beared and happen to have gray facial hair i was approached by a staff member and immediately told its was for E-1 to E-6 single sailors only. dont know why she assumed i was above the pay grade of E-6 or wasnt single. even after the fact i was just checking the place out, felt pretty discriminated against and wont be going back to their new bowling alley especially when Gator Lanes is more friendly and better priced. i am a weekly bowler butbi wont be doing it at oceana...

We love freedom lanes. The employees are wonderful, it's clean, and we love the updates. If I had any complaints it would be the food and not the food itself but the silly rules like no refills and it's a tad overpriced. We overlook the prices though because the bowling is so cheap. Most people won't even finish one full drink during their game or two of bowling let alone a second and I think it's off putting to have a giant sign saying "no refills". It "cheapens" the atmosphere so to speak. We've gone here half a dozen times and have never finished a drink to require a refill. I think the sign is unnecessary and you're not really losing much money by preventing refills. Just my opinion as a consumer and with a food management background. It's not worth the pennies you...

Lane and shoe rental prices are inexpensive; food is good and you can reserve several lanes or the entire complex for parties!

On the weekend, they often have $1.00 bowling...can't beat that! To cut the costs for families with children just buy bowling shoes at an online retailer and go bowling here and pay just to bowl and not for shoe rental. You can also buy bowling balls here too... they usually have specials or promotions and you can get a nice bowling ball at a really good price. You can have the ball sized here to fit your bowling needs. Buy all accessories here.

I like it here and the employees especially Kristen are very accommodating, courteous and knowledgeable about the lane computers. They are always there to assist...
