This place is completely awful. I have lived here for two years now and it continues to just get worse. I moved in with my now finance in May of 2015 (he had already been living here since 2013). I can't think of any other way besides to just list out or horrible experiences because there are so many.
The grass as we speak is up to my knees because they don't have anyone come out to cut it on a regular enough basis. The require you to use black trash bags and will fine you $10 if you don't. -And you have to leave your trash outside on the curb in no sort of container and as a result the birds and the squirrels rip apart the bags and trash gets everywhere. They once sent out a letter 1.5years ago that they were going to be installing pet waste receptacles across the complex- that still hasn't happened. I paid the one time $55 fee for the gym and my pass doesn't even work. The outlets in our apartment are so terrible that sometimes the plugs will fall right out of the socket. Some nights my cell phone doesn't even charge and the TV in our bedroom will just cut off sometimes. They continue to increase our rent by at least $50 every year without giving any kind of explanation as to why.
I know what you're thinking.. why don't we just move. I would love to but we are currently saving to move out of state and moving to another apartment complex would only delay our big move. So instead we are stuck here in a complex that constantly sends out passive aggressive letters to its tenants, doesn't take care of the landscape nor the buildings that sit on it. We pay our rent on time every months- it's automatically drafted out so we always pay it, we abide by the rules of the complex and we never get complaints and yet our rent increases- right now there are two bedroom two bath units that are cheaper that my 700sqft 1br 1ba apartment.
Honestly the ONLY upside to this place is the location. It's quiet for the most part and its tucked away within a safe neighborhood and its a convenient location for the high way...
Read moreWe moved into a filthy apartment; pee on the walls in the bathroom. Paint on the floors. The fridge was very old and leaked. The oven broke shortly after moving in. The leasing agent I spoke with before moving in (Chelsey) told me I could transfer my service with Cox, knowing I worked from home and needed internet straight away. When the technician arrived, he wasn’t able to install because apparently the community has a deal with Verizon and Verizon ONLY. Chelsey knew this, and she lied to my face just to get us to move in. I missed several days of work waiting for my service to be set up with Verizon. At move out, they had the nerve to charge over $80 for drip pans (in no world do they cost that much to replace, nor is it laborious), $30+ dollars for an oven cleaning, and over $130 for carpet cleaning when there were no stains anywhere. We laid rugs down throughout the entire apartment. We never wore shoes inside, never smoked inside. I’ve called corporate several times, at the number provided by Shannon, about my security deposit. All of the issues I had with my move in and being lied to. It’s been over two weeks and not a single response from them. Shannon ignored requests to provide an email address where I could reach them better. Scam of an apartment community. I would never rent here again. The apartment is spacious, but there are bugs everywhere due to the lake and overgrown brush behind the property. They will steal money from your deposit, ignore you, and call the cops when you try to speak to someone in person. Office full of angry women who will escalate a situation before even attempting to help you. Don’t belie the lies in other reviews. CHELSEY IS THE...
Read moreEverything is made super cheap. Half the outlets in the apartment dont work, and the other half will spit out your plug from the slightest pull. We’ve lived here for only four months and we’ve already had: The washer machine tube unplug and flood water everywhere The a/c break on a hot summer sunday with no maintance time arrival estimate Had our water shut off (with absolutely no warning) for the entire day. Then gave us attitude for asking when it’ll be turned back on. (They said 6pm but it wasn’t until 9pm) Our kitchen sink now has a leak and it’ll be a full day before they can fix it. So cant really do the dishes or cook diner.
Also a bunch of little annoying stuff : A hole in our porch net which keeps allowing wasps in Our bedroom sink reaks of sulfur and the plug isn’t installed properly Stains on the carpet Super loud creaky floors The drawers in the bathroom cabinets are not attached properly so the drawers just fall right out.
And i could forgive all that but the biggest reason we moved to this apartment complex is because it is in kingsgrant and we both grew up here and love the nature and trees. NOW they’re cutting down all the trees, which is not only loud and begins at 8am , but it’s the ugliest thing. Instead of sitting on our porch and looking at nice shady green trees, all we can see is other peoples apartments and pavement. Really ruins the whole nature/ forest theme that kingsgrant stands for.
I will say though, the apartments are a great size and the layout is nice. If only they were made with higher quality cabinets...
