Crossroads Convenience — Local services in Virginia

Stopped here yesterday going from the Lake and heading towards Grand Rapids. Just another stop at another gas station and I really just needed the restroom, but not wanting to be "that" guy, I got some gasoline. The pump had a minor networking issue, so I went in to pay at the counter. Told the lady to put fifty on pump 5. No problem. After a pit stop, I bought a couple Slim-Jim's and the gal very kindly reminded me to not forget the gas. I went out, pumped a little over twenty bucks in gas and then sat there trying to open the Slim-Jim's. After a couple minutes, there's a tap on my driver's side window and I roll it down. The guy tells me they owe me money inside. A little puzzled I went back in where the gal explains I had change coming from the fifty I'd put on the pump. I said assumed the pump would just refund the overage onto my card. She replied that it won't work that way and that they owe me about thirty bucks. To say I was highly impressed is an understatement. They could have very easily not said a word and, honestly, I wouldn't have known the difference. Would give more stars, however 90% of the staff either ignores you when you’re there or just rude/no manners. And some of the cashiers need to learn how to count back change. My total was $14.62 I gave the cashier $20.62 and she gave me $5 for my change. Common sense on that one. But she seemed completely unconcerned when I said that my change back should have been $6. She didn’t even try to give me correct change. Just ignored that I had said anything so I just left. Not worth the hassle and as a customer I shouldn’t have to teach...

Great gas station/convenience/liquor store. It is nice that they have as much as they do available in a location outside of town. Many times it saves me a trip to Eveleth or Virginia when I can stop here and get what I need.
