After hearing about the battle in the museum I was hoping to walk outside and see some cannons or a clear food of defenses but that wasn’t the case. Luckily I took a gander on Google Maps and found just around the corner and out of sight from the museum was this gem. My son liked this spot as much as the museum and asked if he could have his own cannon. Instead we simulated firing them all and he was happy.

It's such a beautiful and peaceful place, it's hard to imagine the mayhem that took place here. It's also crazy to see the redoubts in person and just how steep they are. It's incomprehensible as to how they could have been taken with just bayonets, and so quickly. You should really see them if you come to this National Park to gain some appreciation for what occurred here.

Start your journey to learn about the redoubts at the Colonial National Historic Park on your Jamestown tour. There is a brief movie about the war along with many artifacts to view. Learning about the makings of the redoubts are very interesting.

Checked out the Yorktown and thought it was quite neat. Been on ships before but this one doesn't let you climb through all of the rooms. Inside is very limited to mess hall and some rooms. The outside is kept up quite well on the ship. My only issue was some of the walking paths around the ship can be quite confusing. It isn't something you can do as a circular motion, you can miss things. The museum in the beginning before getting on the ship is quite interesting as well. It has some little aquarium stuff, things about recycling, and some cool stuff about the USS Wisconsin. There are quite a few things around this as well that is pretty cool to check out. I would suggest wondering around the area. Cool architecture and...

I lived in Hampton Va. in my teen and 20's. if you are a history buff as I am Yorktown battlefields is one of the best places to visit. At night sitting on one of the burms close your eyes and can almost take you back to 1776. you can almost hear the musketts and cannons go in off in the distance. then the dead quiet that follows when the guns die down. you open your eyes and realize it was just a minutes thought. but what a ride. one of the places to see again before I...
