Lots of drug activity, needles in the water, and around the parking area. Don't plan on fishing from the dock, there will most likely be kids jumping off it to swim. It used to be a relaxing spot, but the increase in popularity has turned it into a place where you can't be out of eyesight of your vehicle. Not to mention people driving on the grass when it's prohibited is turning good spots to mud holes, and giving TWRA a reason to prohibit kayak launching. The maintained public kayak launch at Fort loudon 120 seconds down the road is a much better bet, unless you just want a quiet place...
