I recently visited the Presque Isle River Area, and it was an absolutely stunning and refreshing experience. The area is located in the western corner of the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park and features three beautiful waterfalls: Manabezho Falls, Mandio Falls, and Nawadaha Falls. The river flows out to Lake Superior, creating a picturesque and serene environment.
The trails along the river are well-marked and offer a variety of scenic views. I particularly enjoyed the Presque Isle River Waterfalls Loop Trail, which is a nature lover's dream. The loop can be challenging at times, with stairs, boardwalks, and rooted paths, but the effort is well worth it. The trail takes you along both the east and west sides of the river, with a bridge connecting the two sides. The views of the waterfalls and the river are breathtaking, and it's a great place to take frequent stops and soak in the beauty of nature.
One thing to note is that the area can have horse and deer flies, especially where the river empties into Lake Superior, so make sure to bring bug spray. Despite this minor inconvenience, the experience was truly memorable. The river, the trails, and the waterfalls all contribute to a wonderful and wild adventure.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Presque Isle River Area if you enjoy hiking, nature, and beautiful scenery. It's a perfect spot to connect with nature and enjoy the...

If you're able I recommend the whole loop, including walking down to the lake once you're on the island itself. Don't...
