Glad there is a grocery store in an area that, since the grocery in Waverly closed, is the only store until food lion in windsor and you're better off going all the way to walmart or ALDI's. Many items are overpriced by a margin that goes beyond the cost of business. There has been a problem with WIC benefits, for months and months the bread did not function on WIC and 2% milk is still not covered as low fat. Every grocer ive ever been to that accepts WIC has taken 2% milk as low fat. This grocer is sitting on a gold mine it would be wonderful if there could at least be some good management with regard to your health department contracts. Yep. We live in a "food desert". The next closest grocery store is almost 30 miles away. This lil store is in a rural area and is a blessing. I wouldn't shop here for a week's worth as it's too expensive and has limited selection of brands. But it's great for a quick stop. The Culinary Circle brand pizzas are the best frozen we've ever had. Donna's been great in the bakery. The meat department is always willing to cut your meat any way you like. Great Val-U is an excellent grocery store for the area. It is located in a Food Desert a the next closest grocery store is 25+ miles away. Given this, they could jack up their prices, bit they haven't. While they are higher priced than Wal-Mart, the cost to shop there is reasonable.
