My husband is a truck driver who regularly travels to Maine. He has stopped here for fresh and frozen seafood several times. The fresh scallops were excellent the first time. The second time they were not good. They felt slimey and smelled really strong of fish. I washed them and found an orange one that seemed to be spoiled because it really smelled bad. I ended up cooking the rest and they were ok, but definitely not as good as the previous ones. My husband stopped in today and was told orange ones are females. Male or female, it was spoiled. He talked to the owner on the phone, to try to get a refund or another item. The owner said to talk to his neice and have her call him. He did this and it was all just giving him the run around costing him 30 minutes on his tight schedule for nothing. The customer service was not good. We have spent a lot of money there, but...

We were driving to Camden and searching for a lobster roll for the wife and side dishes for the family. Passed Red’s Eats in Wiscasset and saw a line there so my wife called to find out wait time and price of lobster roll... couldn’t get wait time but got $25 for the lobster roll so we kept driving! Came upon Delano Seafood and saw a large menu with $16.99 lobster roll so we were sold! My wife reported 4 stars for the roll (which is small) but the other items were not so good thus 3 stars... fries, new chicken sandwich, buffalo cauliflower and some Asian dumpling thing that was awful. If I were to recommend this place, stick to the lobster roll which my wife reported was better than Pete Ott’s on the water in Camden.... and that...

Given the multitude of places one can stop for a lobster roll in the area, don’t pick Delano’s.

Reasons not to go here:

-Extremely long wait to receive food. My friend and I ordered 1 lobster roll and 1 fish sandwich and we waited for our food for 55 MINUTES. There were only a few other customers there, so they didn’t appear particularly busy. -Only 2 picnic tables have an umbrella, and the rest of the tables will leave you baking in the hot sun. Unfortunately we weren’t one of the lucky ones who got an umbrella. -On a busy highway, so it’s very noisy with zero ambiance -Food is moderately expensive and just ok; not worth the cost or the experience

In short, go...

This new(ish) seafood takeout is a local gem. The menu is really nice with many different selections: lobster grilled cheese, crab grilled cheese. I love the baby North Atlantic shrimp! Harder and harder to find these being served. The portions are decent and there's PLENTY of parking. When you don't want to wait in line for Moody's, go here, you'll be happy. My new favourite is the Maine crabmeat grilled cheese basket; buttery bread, crisp and the melted cheese with that Maine crabmeat is absolutely delicious and they DONT skimp on the crabmeat making this a winner. I see good things for this small takeout; this is a great addition to Waldoboro's food selection.

The menu here is extensive for a roadside eatery. They offer everything from lobster rolls to burgers and onion rings. We enjoyed the lobster rolls. They have picnic tables which were clean and had umbrellas for shade. On the downside, it did look like it was under construction so there were some materials scattered about. More importantly, there was no restroom (although there was an outdoor porta-potty). The food was good but there was no place to wash our hands or freshen up afterward as many families need to do while traveling. Overall, I would say it's a good stop for a quick bite.

I'm from the West Coast, WA state and love seafood. I came here to get some fried seafood, choosing the shrimp basket and deep fried pickles. The pickles were absolutely amazing but I wasn't very happy with the shrimp. They give you quite huge portions, for the money, but the shrimp was very tiny shrimp and at first I thought they were clams. Clams and me don't quite get along. But with the included tarter sauce, it was delicious. I would definitely get the pickles again. My friend had a lobster roll, which was honestly overpriced and very tiny. She said it was underwhelming.
