Tough course. Not long by any means, but lots of up and downs. Really tight course, even this time of year (late April) when it's not even bloomed yet. Trees can be unforgiving. That all being said, it's one of, if not THE most diverse in terms of shots you need in your bag. Well maintained on the course, but the lot is under construction right now, so there's no parking. Hopefully that'll be done at some point this year. For now you'll have to park along the road. No other facilities right now either. Potty ahead of tims. All in all, worth it...but might suck on a really hot day.

Johnson Park is the BEST disc golf course in the Grand Rapids area!! This is my absolute favorite course to play since the hilly landscapes and beautiful lookouts create such a good challenge that you don’t normally get at other courses. With the free workout included from climbing up and down all the hills, Hannah Montana would say “you get the best of both worlds”😅 It’s a very doable course and I’d say the level here is moderate but seriously such a great park to play at!! Best time to play is about 2 hours before sunset so you get all the nice golden hour vibes :) Enjoy y’all!

Great course, lots of elevation changes. At times I really wished I had a forecaddy as my disc would disappear over a crest of a hill or around an escarpment, only to look where I thought it landed and have it turn up 5 minutes later and 50 feet away. Different terrains from deep woods to sweeping plateaus, and awesome fall colors. Bring water!

In one sentence, i can sum this place up: "You don't play Johnson Park, you survive Johnson Park." Hot, hilly, and trouble abound. So many overgrown areas to lose discs, many filled with burrs, prickers, and poison ivy. Sure, the course is really kind of amazing, but the fun factor is sucked out of it with how much energy it consumes. Oh, and the bugs, they swarm like crazy, being as close to the river as it is. The course has its merits, its...
