I can't say enough about UOA. To me, it's the Greatest Orthopedic practice. As stated in my past posts for my back and hand surgeons, Doctor, Dr. Doumas and Chiapetta, to me, are the best. I've stated in the past they are very professional, very informative, very caring and concerned when it comes to any issues health concerns you may have and do everything in their power to make you comfortable, resolve's any issues you may have and or might arise and truely cares about their patience. THey take their time with you with all of you visits/ follow-ups ,answer and explain all questions and concerns that you may have before and / or after any surgeries, and / or if there are any alternative methods. Dr Patel is the exact same, very caring as well and informative. Everyone in the office, from their medical assistants to front the desk and records dept, are all as well very nice, informative, and always pleasant to work with. I also can not leave out the physical therapists in the office in the back in the wall office. All the therapists are Great, caring and all do a Great job, as well as their assistance's. I for one can honestly say when you're not feeling well and in pain they can tell and try to make you as comfortable as possible to get you threw your work out and get their job done as well. As I have come to the end of my months of in office therapy for two major back surgeries done by dr Chiapetta they went out of their way to make sure I had what supplies needed to keep on top of my at home exercises as well as in the past with my hand surgeries. I can honestly say I will NEVER change my doctors as long as I can refrain from having to do so. I've become their permanent science project. Unfortunately, more to come. Between my hands again and now putting myself on hold with Dr for my knee You are again ALL the BEST....
Read moreThe staff and Doctors made me feel comfortable, however...once I was seen and given a prescription for an MRI the office never sent a request for authorization to my insurance company. So after setting up an appointment for an MRI, I was called a week later by AMI the imaging specailist. They were calling to try and cancel my MRI appointment. The UOA office claimed their systems were down (which happens however is not an excuse there are other ways to do business) and for that reason they could not send the request for authorization. I called my insurance company and found out even with systems down a simple phone call would have prompted an on the spot or 24 hr approval due to the injury (Achilles Tendon rupture). I called my insurance company back and they conferenced me in on a conversation with the physicians office and instead of the woman who picked up the phone listening to what the insurance company and I were trying to tell her...she gave us a lecture on her companies policy. A simple fix would've been active listening and realizing all we needed was someone to say yes an MRI was ordered by the physician and provide some simple information which I already had, but needed to be confirmed by the physicians office. Instead the receptionist was confrontational and unwilling to help. That call was on a recorded line and and if it comes to it I will take legal action! Oh, and let me add due to that employees lack of people skills, I'm going to my appointment tomorrow and paying for the MRI out of pocket! My physician was pleaseant and as much as I would like to add his name...I can't because this is a bad review...however I might add it later because I feel like he shouldve reached out after my multiple phone calls...instead I was routed to Otra multiple times and after leaving a message there no return...
Read moreDr Chiapetta saved my life. I can’t think of any other way to put it . I had a bad fall down the stairs and my lumbar l5 s1 was completely collapsed , but I didn’t know it at first . For a year or longer I was misdiagnosed by general physicians , urgent care and emergency rooms . I suffered excruciating sciatica every moment of standing . Even a chiropractor suggested physical therapy . It wasn’t until I visit university orthopaedics and had a proper spinal x ray and my injury was properly diagnosed instantly. MRI and a few weeks later I had a successful spinal fusion surgery. It was either the surgery or a lifetime of pain specialist visits . When you have a major back injury like mine you have 2 options: If you want to live your life addicted to pain medicine that will only bandaid a major problem then you see a pain specialist . Over and over and over and over and you will always be in pain and go to a pain specialist for the rest of your life
Or If you want to get on with a normal life you find a good orthopaedic surgeon to fix the problem . Dr Chiapetta is as good as it gets . Thank you for giving me my life back. I’ll never take the blessing of standing or walking (without pain) for granted...
