Rock Solid Fishing — Local services in Wanchese

I have always wanted to take my dad deep sea fishing and I continually heard great things about OBX. I researched several fishing charters and decided on Rock solid for several reasons. First and foremost all the amazing reviews of such positive experiences from other satisfied customers. We stayed on Nags Head so this was a convenient 20 mins or so drive. The captain called me the night before, just as I was told he would. We arrived the morning of and the captain was there getting things ready. We went out and caught fish almost all day! I couldn't believe the amount of fish we caught. Capt. John did great at explaining to us what we needed to do and how to do it, but let us catch the fish which made it a great experience. My dad likes to talk lol and he enjoyed the conversation with Capt. John throughout the day. This was a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend Rock Solid to anyone. Very professional and knowledgeable about what they do. Capt. John even let us know that the marina had a great breakfast available and we took advantage! Another fantastic year with rock solid fishing! My husband, daughter (8yr old) and I took my brother in law and his two daughters ages 16 and his youngest 10 (whose birthday happened to be today) out with Captain John on a morning 4 hour trip. I cannot say enough positive things about this company and Captain John himself. He is incredibly knowledgeable, extremely kind and SO great with kids. He keeps you busy with landing fish (or maybe we kept him busy) 2 bluefish and 25 trout! Either way, my neice (whose birthday it was) keeps asking her dad that next year (if we can't stay a week) she wants him to drive her down from Maryland just to go back on a tour with Captain John...and then drive back after they catch fish. Another great day on the water with Captain John. There will be more ! Thanks Rock Solid ! UPDATE 6/25 I started fishing with Capt Aaron Kelly over twenty years ago. That in itself should be enough of an endorsement. One year (5 years ago) I procrastinated and Capt Kelly was booked, so I booked with Capt John on the Carolina Blue with high hopes because he's a part of the Rock Solid team. We had a great day and I made a new friend. Of course that meant that I would be booking with both from then on. This year Bob (Capt Kelleys mate, another great guy) had the day off so Capt Mike of the Southern run filled in. I'm afraid now that I might have to book with all 3!! As always, we had a great day.
