I've been patiently waiting to try this place all year. It was worth the wait. I didn't even have time to take pictures of the the food, I was so excited to try it. We got the Carolina crab soup to start. So rich and flavorful. I ended up with the Captain's Platter because I wanted to try a little of everything and my S.O. got the crab cake BLT. For the Captains platter: When I say everything was cooked perfectly, I'm not remotely exaggerating. I've never had calamari that wasn't rubbery. This was SO tender and flavorful. The crab fritters were divine, just all lump crab and fried to a perfect crispness. Best hushpuppies I've had ( and I tend to get them everywhere), not dry at all. Clams were wonderful (nothing fancy but cooked well). Lastly the shrimp, you can tell they're fresh, perfectly cooked and seasoned. You get 4 little sauces, cocktail, tartar, remolaude and some delicious vinegar-y, slightly Asian citrus stuff that is good on everything. I almost feel bad that I only ate a few fries, but those were also good. According to s.o., crab cake blt was delicious as well. We got the O.I. Beach Pie and Banana Pudding for dessert, if you ha e room, I highly recommend! If you are lucky, you also get to see the fisherman come in with some fresh catches. Also for what it's worth, this is a "counter service" place. You don't have a server, per say, but you order at the counter, and they bring...

*put it in the GPS and go eat here, read the reviews on the way😘

It was the end of an impromptu rainy trip and this was a hesitant last stop out.

We spent 160$ on several entrees, appetizers and mixed drinks and we received more than we paid for and took 2 boxes to go.

I grew up on Florida's best Gulf beaches and have spent a majority of my life around tropical waters, pacific islands, Caribbean etc etc and I am a seafood SNOB 😆.

Scallop, oysters, Mahi, soup, hush puppies, mojitos were all made to perfection. I mean, we kept looking at each other laughing because we expected something to not be as good, but it was all phenomenal.

No joke, absolutely everything was perfect and came out extremely fast.

We went so far as to tell the kitchen staff and met the Cheif who I believe was the owners son(?) And this guy reminded me of a cheerful but on point Anthony Bourdain.

I dont write many reviews but I hope this helps a few ppl wonder in and order because if im ever back in OBX, this will absolutely be a necessary stop.

Thank you to the amazing staff 😁🧘🏻‍♂️🤙🏼

Scallop pasta and she crab soup still on my frontal cortex 😆😆😆

I was so excited that the new building at Oregon Inlet included a restaurant so we could not wait to try it.

Well, Sea Chef was even more than my expectations. We went over for a quick lunch, but I would love to return for a more leisurely stay. The food is gourmet-level fantastic, but the atmosphere is super chill. You can have table service or order at counter and they bring it out to you. Indoor and outdoor seating.

It was a gorgeous day, so we opted to eat outside, looking over the inlet and boats coming in. Off the back deck, they have cornhole and additional tables with umbrellas.

The nice woman at the counter suggested the shrimp burger, and she did not steer me wrong. It was the best seafood sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Perfect texture, seasoning, crunchiness of the bun… I loved it. Hubby has a burger which I did not get a photo of bc he devoured it.

I’m already looking forward to coming back over and over and trying everything! I’ll be back the first week of Dec and hope you guys...

The food was phenomenal. The ladies that helped us were so kind and helpful. The setting is Devine. I had the she crab soup, the brussel sprouts as a side (best ever!) and the shrimp burger. All were delicious. The soup was creamy with a significant amount of crab meat. The Brussels were the best Ive ever had. Cooked to tenderness with an (almost sweet) sauce sprinkled with craisons and pumpkin seeds. The shrimp burger was large steamed shrimp mashed together and the relish and bun added to its tastiness. The setting is picturesque. We sat outside overlooking the boats and water. The music….i don’t often comment on the music but the music was spot on for enriching the coastal setting. 10 out of 10 recommend.

We decided to have lunch after our dolphin watching tour. Tasty Tuna tartar. Highly recommend. Very fresh. Husband had the bacon burger & fries. He's not a seafood person. He said it had a good flavor. No choices of cheese, just American. Daughter had grilled oysters. They were very fresh & yummy. Prices were acceptable. Many tasty choices on the menu. Can't wait to come back & try something else. Enjoyed the balcony seating outside. Watched boats come & go. Vehicles crossing the bridge & horseback riders along the road. Tables have umbrellas. There is railside seating as well. Campground across the street. Boat docks within the same parking lot. Nice store attached with a lot of items available.
