So..we kind of went off trail at the upper falls. There was a lower trail that went all the way down to lower falls. It was beautiful! There were rainbows and water was flowing heavily. Absolutely beautiful!

The lower Mesa falls is a one mike, easy hike to get to the area. It's mainly flat, wide, with many different wildflowers along the path. Very tall Aspen trees, pine trees, oh, the smell of the pine trees is wonderful. The day we went, July 6, wasn't to hot, very little bugs to bother you, low humidity. Just a beautiful site to see. It is absolutely beautiful. The waterfall is taller than Niagara falls by quite a bit. This is a must-see spot if you're from out of state and traveling to Yellowstone. It's a short detour but just take the mesa falls...
