They installed a gas furnace without a flue liner, reduced the size of the exhaust vent from the unit to the chimney (you never get smaller down the line), and did not inform me that there were other options, now I have an unsafe condition of venting and continued deterioration of my historic brick chimney. This was a few years ago and I have been looking for some way to remedy the situation with masons and chimney sweeps. A flue liner was originally part of the scope. I had even asked multiple times if it would work in the old house and they said they checked and yes, and then informed me once the installation was complete that they didn't put in a liner. Well, two other contractors I had out to install the liner after the fact said the chimney is just too small and that should have been brought to my attention before the install. Now I know that I could have upgraded to a more efficient furnace that could direct vent out the wall thru PVC pipe, but Zimmerman never suggested that option. They just should not have installed that system as they did. Now I'm stuck with the original $9,000 bill, hundreds $ to patch the damaged masonry, and potentially another couple thousand dollars to replace the furnace AGAIN with a higher efficiency model that does not require a chimney to vent. What an absolute waste of money. I went with Zimmerman based on price but now regret it. Also had them totally botch a washer installation upstairs, destroy my wall, not patch it, and resulted in draining water out the side of my exterior wall onto my...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointed in the service of this company. We needed them to come out and fix our oil heat. They never gave a price upfront but when they came out all they did was bleed the baseboards a little, saying I hadn't bled them enough. I did ask the serviceman what the cost would be and he said they would just send me an invoice. We assumed the bill would not be too outrageous since this was such a easy fix.
Well, the bill turned out to be $240! When I called and asked why I wasn't told the price upfront, since I never would have allowed the work to be done had I known what they charge the owner told me they don't tell prices upfront unless you specifically ask because "many people tell him they don't care about price" and he did not believe omitting this information was dishonest.
All I can say is that they definitely lost a customer and I'm sorry that others will suffer the...
Read moreWe recently had faucets replaced on all the bathroom vanities. The ones we had were very hard to clean and too detailed for my taste. As we looked through the extensive variety of vanity faucets and it was a bit overwhelming. I’m sorry I don’t remember the women’s name that helped us but she gave us a lot of information about their inventory. She showed us an option that I never would have thought of and that was a faucet with a SPRAYER! It was sleek, easy to clean, had the single lever that I was looking for. I was wanting something that had a longer “neck” than our current faucets. We got them installed by Bath Barn and I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! Love them and wanted to thank them again for all...
