I’ve been there to run in the past, but I went there most recently to bike and to run. The main loop is about 3 miles. There is ample parking and bathroom facilities dispersed throughout. There’s a golf course and a mini golf facility, but I’ve never seen anyone use it. There are places to have gatherings and picnics with tables. There are barrels to take hot ashes after having barbecues.

People fish here.

Only major feedback is that it would be nice to have work done on the walking paths on the outer edge of the peninsula. If functional again, it would take the runners off the road and only leave the bikers and cars. Then one lane could be designated to biking while the other is for driving.

Overall, the area is safe for biking and running, but cars do drive past when either leaving the park or coming to the area and...

Fantastic place to have a BBQ and bring the family and friends. The river is so beautiful at Sunset. That’s one of the best times to be around this place. I love Picnics and BBQ’s on the vast green areas. On April and May. There are so many Cherry Blooming that the whole experience is very unique. In one side of the island is the Main Ave. marina and on the other side is the Ronald Reagan National Airport. There are restrooms available and plenty of parking spaces. Sometimes I bring seafood from the market place on the marina and eat al Fresco. Don’t forget to bring your Bicycles, Rollerblades and Skate Boards. There is a street circling the whole island if you decide to...

I really don't know why this is so highly reviewed. Walked the whole perimeter. The views are great. The trees are nice. Looks like a decent place for a picnic or fishing. There is so much potential here, but everything is in disrepair. The bathrooms are out of order, the sidewalk is more broken than whole. The benches and picnic tables are mostly broken. Even the golf course has bare spots and probably should be removed as a waste of space in dc. In the heart of the city, next to the national park headquarters this is...
