Couple of days after the grand opening, I tried breakfast. The menu is very poor (no dinner selections, limited breakfast). Food was just ok, but the coffee was absolutely horrible and undrinkable. I miss the Crossroads, where there was great food, great coffee, good prices and good service.
I think the entire community was done a disservice by closing the Crossroads to be honest, it was the best restaurant in the area, and has now been "replaced" by a tourist trap with a lousy menu, horrible coffee and the same cookie-cutter feel as every other tourist trap. I ate at the Crossroads a LOT (well over a hundred times) because it was great.
I'm not planning on coming back for food or anything else. The casino was full of smoke (I can't stand cigarette smoke) and I never even went inside because the air is literally unbreathable. NONE of the "non-smoking" rooms in any business or casino ever works either - since the contaminated air always pollutes the supposedly "smoke-free" areas, so don't bother trying that stunt, it will be a waste of money (just make it all smoke free, please). Honestly, I'd like to give this casino a 1 star, but didn't. Didn't do any gambling at all, I simply could not hold my breath long enough.
The ONLY thing I like about the new facility is the grocery store. It's clean, well-stocked (but overpriced) and carries organics which I really like. I've been there many times already, but won't bother to visit any other part of the other facilities now that I know what they offer.
6/21/18 - Ok, decided to try this restaurant again since I was in the area. It has not gotten any better. Breakfast was lousy (eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, coffee). Once again, the coffee was absolutely horrible and totally unfit to drink. The hashbrowns must have been recycled and dehydrated. Even the sausage was bland with little flavor and eggs weren't quite cooked to order ("over medium" is my preference, they came undercooked). Even my adult son complained. Obviously, the management there isn't listening to the customers complaints about the food. Some of the staff at the facility admit the restaurant isn't fit to eat at. It's too bad the tribe is using a "corporate culture" and probably outside management team to run this place, it really really sucks now. That's two strikes, enough to make it an "out" for me ever again.
For the record, I eat out a lot. I enjoy good food. Comparing the quality of the food to other local restaurants in the area is easy because of this. I give the Wetlands a 1 star now and the last place I'd prefer to eat. The loss of the Crossroads restaurant is "acute", since this by far, was the best restaurant in the entire area for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and then to go to "this" as their "replacement". It's not even an upgrade other then being newer, but it's no place to eat. Sorry - but they missed the boat here by a...
Read moreThis is a great change from the faster-pace in Spokane. The drive to Cusick is nice and once you get there, the Casino, Wetlands Restaurant, and Marketplace are an oasis! We shared the Indian Taco at Wetlands... OMG! Better than a food truck or at a Pow Wow! Unfortunately Wetlands and the Market are only open to 8p and take-out from Wetlands ends at 5p... so plan ahead if you want this scrumptious food... The service at Wetlands was very good. No casino time for us this trip, but, we'll definitely check it out next time. We rented a cabin for the night for a get-away. The check-in process is a bit kludgy, but, hey, you're in Cusick... not the big city, so relax... :-)... We stayed in one of the 4 person cabins. I don't know how you'd get four people in there, but it was comfy for two for an overnight. These are not much bigger than a large travel trailer, but they have a nice front room, kitchen, bathroom and "master bedroom." We were disappointed there isn't a TV in the bedroom, something we've come to expect... even in our motor home. The portable A/C unit in the front room doesn't push enough air to cool the master bedroom and is rather noisy, but it's survivable. A concern is that there isn't a keydrop for early departures. Since the only way into the cabin is via the slider, there is no way to lock the key inside if you leave early and no dropbox at the Market. All that said, we're definitely coming back to this...
Read moreI went to the grand opening yesterday, first inspection very nice but small, needs a non smoking room, service from the bartenders would be a zero charged for drinks that someone else ordered, I had a bloody Mary and got charged $32, my drink was $6, they couldn't figure out how to do a refund so I was told. They said they would comp my meal, even though I was already using my comps for my friend and my meal. It took 1 hour to get my bloody Mary and 2 more hours to figure out that that they couldn't refund my money! Take my hard earned money and tell me you will try to see if we can get it back in your account tomorrow, not acceptable. So, I made reservations for dinner for myself and my best friends widow whom also just lost her mother, we waited an hour for our food and it was cold, the burgers were like hockey pucks by the time we got our food. We were expecting a really nice meal to end up with a limited menu. I heard the food was amazing to end up with mostly finger foods, what a joke, at least I was able to spend some time with my friend. One person stood out for the best customer service was the nice young lady in...
