The very BEST waterfall/hike in Oregon in my opinion. AND it is Pet friendly. Multnomah just has a reputation and is definitely worth seeing BUT if you are looking for a hike that would go well with the view then you NEED to do this one right here. It is about a 2 mile loop and it has the most amazing views of the forest and it has about 2 other waterfalls inside of the forest/hike. Across some small rivers and small bridges that make for AMAZING picture opportunities. The path can sometimes get a little confusing but if you are there during a time where people are around then it should be no problem. In fact, Worst case scenario you can just go back the same way you came from. This is a definite MUST and I will totally visit again whenever I am back in town. No more than a 40 minute drive from Portland, last I remember. GO check it out for yourself and tag/follow our travel vlogs...
Read moreWe visited many different waterfalls all in one day and this waterfall was our favorite! Kids had a blast here! As you can see in the photos, you can walk right up to the waterfall. The spray and wind of the falls is so powerful! You can also hike to the upper falls.
We didn’t hike to the upper falls this time since we visited Horsetail Falls, hiked Multnomah, upper Multnomah Falls, Dutchman Falls, Weisendanger Falls, Ecola Falls, (Latourell- this one), and Wahkeena Falls all in one day.
And then we hiked Panther Creek Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Curly Creek Falls and a few other waterfalls the same trip and kids still remembered the fun they had at this exact fall. . . So if that tells you anything, if you are in the area, stop by Latourell Falls and go up close and feel the breeze! Be...
Read moreLatourell Falls absolutely blew me away! This spot was spectacular—the view is stunning, and it felt like a hidden treasure compared to the much more crowded Multnomah Falls. One of the best parts is how close you can get to the base of the waterfall—feeling the mist and hearing the roar up close was incredible.
There are two trail options here. I took the shorter one, and it was totally doable and definitely worth the walk. Peaceful, scenic, and not too strenuous. Perfect if you’re looking for something rewarding without the crowds or a full-day hike.
Out of all the waterfalls we visited during our camping trip, this one was my favorite. I’d recommend Latourell Falls to anyone looking for a beautiful, serene experience in the Columbia River Gorge....
