We got a mattress and couch. My son has found the mattress to be very comfortable. They did really good trying to get it in my hatchback vehicle, and when it wouldn't fit, they were able to schedule a free delivery in less than a week so that was excellent! The salesperson was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful.
They didn't have a floor model for the couch I saw online, but did great at showing me one that was similar so I could sit on it. I ordered the one I wanted online at a really nice sale price since the one close to it I sat on was comfortable.
Originally with pandemic delays the couch was going to be delivered by the end of the month (October), and given I ordered at the beginning of the month, I thought that reasonable. I then got a call around then saying it wouldn't be until mid December; that is significant. I was next very pleasantly surprised when it could be delivered about mid November. The delivery guys were even available hours earlier than expected so that was really nice plus were understanding and waited to come after a work meeting. I would've preferred being given multiple delivery times to choose from when called days beforehand to set up the delivery instead of being informed "it will happen on/at...," but it thankfully worked out better than anticipated. I also don't know why I got called multiple times in a row to set up a delivery until a voicemail was finally left; when I got to my phone to see that, I thought someone was calling for an emergency until the voicemail informed me about calling them back to set up the delivery.
Some weather stripping came off the door during the couch delivery, but they're timely addressing it which shows professionalism on their part.
The only thing that really put me off was the fact that despite the sale, the couch still cost quite a bit, and there was a $100 delivery charge. That by itself is understandable, but to then get handed a piece of paper during delivery that mentions gratuity on top of it was quite off-putting; a $100 delivery charge and gratuity (that couldn't possibly be planned for ahead of time either because of no advanced notice)? No way with already paying $100 for delivery! I frankly find it rude to expect gratuity after already paying $100 for the delivery. I would also expect the couch to be completely put together before they leave for $100, but when asked if I wanted the bed in like they didn't really want to, I decided to let them leave it with the bed folded out. They did remove the plastic from the mattress of the fold out couch bed after asking me first. I was just surprised they didn't automatically put the bed away and put the cushions plus pillows on, etc. Since I had the feeling they didn't seem to want to, and since they asked if I wanted the bed in like they just wanted to leave, I thought to myself Ok why not have them leave it out so I can see how it is to put in. So though that is what I ultimately said, I was still surprised to be asked because I just expect that for $100 "full service" delivery that the entire couch would be put together by them after removing the plastic before they leave without question. Since they seemed like they just wanted to leave, I let them leave the bed out.
Perhaps they can consider a survey to customers and one area can focus on what do customers expect for paid full service delivery. They can then compare customer expectations to however they internally define it because there seems to be a mismatch of expectations here.
Overall though, the whole experience was quite positive and the couch is so incredibly comfortable! Even with the few hiccups, I recommend them, and would go back...
Read moreReally wish I could give a better review. We ordered a media center, coffee table, two side tables, a dresser and two nightstands back in July of 2021. We were told that some of the items would arrive in October, then November, and it kept getting pushed off. Communication was not great. Some of our furniture was finally supposed to arrive the first week of December, and we set a pick up date. When we called to confirm, we were told it “didn’t make it on the truck”. This was not communicated to us, and we had to call and check in to get this information. What if we showed up on our pick up date with our truck and there was no furniture for us to pick up? When the media center arrived a week later, it didn’t have some of the pre-drilled holes making assembly so much harder than it should’ve been. The furniture, for the price, seems extremely cheap. Today, we finally received the bedroom furniture. The delivery men were pleasant, and upon first inspection the furniture seemed undamaged. Hours later, after opening and closing the drawers a few times, they are off kilter and one won’t close all the way. How frustrating. I won’t be giving another dollar to Slumberland. I understand that the wait times and supply chain issues are not their fault, but it is so frustrating to wait so long for furniture that is sub-par at best. Stopped in because we got a flyer in the mall for mattress sale. My daughter needs to get our of her toddler bed, so we stopped in "just to look." We picked a good weekend to stop, it was customer appreciation day! We were greeted and handed a goodie bag. What I loved is that when we said we just wanted to look, the employees let us look! That was so nice. Stacey and her team of employees are excellent!! Stacey answered all our questions we had a bunk bed set. She helped us with the ordering process along with her staff. We ended up getting the bunk bed, mattress, and mattress cover! Nothing was stocked, bust only took few days to get in, so pleased with the service we received. I would highly recommend them if you are looking for furniture! They definitely had things set up nicely and paired well together. Thank you Stacey and staff for ALL your help and suggestions!
