My son and I had a great time. He is really into plants and fruits since he wants to be a farmer when he grows up. He loved picking his own berries. Next time I will bring my own container to carry them because they give you a flat box for an extra dollar and it was too big for the amount of berries we got. We filled up two of the buckets and it only cost us around $7 including the box. Coming earlier in the morning is best because it's still cool out and not so many bugs although I must say there wasn't many. Definitely will come back when it's apple season.
The place to pick the berries isn't the same place as the actual gizdich ranch where they sell the fresh pies and have the gift shop but if the directions take you there instead, it's really easy to find it because it's right up the way and there is a sign that has a little map showing you which...
Read moreSuper fun and super yummy. If ya never had strawberries right off the vine then you don’t know what you’re missing. Gizdich is easy to get to from the Bay Area; maybe an hour drive from South San Jose.
Note that it’s a half mile or so away from the Gizdich location they sell pies and have true fruit picking.
They have a large dirt lot and then you walk up the short stairs for strawberry and other berry picking. Bring your own box of Mr bowl or they will sell you one. They weigh it before you start picking.
The strawberry patch is quite large and you’re sure to find good ones as long as you visit anywhere near the season. I’ve been here off season and they were closed.
