I had a young lady serving me and eight friends from work, She was very knowledgeable she was very courteous she was very professional the whole time. She handed us over to a young man so she can take care of other patrons who were coming. This young man was rude, and accused me of being a thief to my face Instead for having the manger of the establishment come to speak to us he tried to handle it Himself this young man was VERY Unprofessional. His tone was too aggressive for someone who is not the manager, and to be in customer service role ,with questions and concerns about paying customers. After his rudeness I went ahead and paid my tab for me and my co-workers and when it was time for me to receive my complementary glasses, He bag them up I am quoted me a second fee I showed him on his menu that if you spend a certain amount that you were receive the cups and glasses and I would not pay anymore he became belligerent. The manager finally comes over says he did see the mistake that we were free to go but this young man insisted that he search my bags for cups that I should not have had after spending $115 on the special. One day later I noticed a $40 fee for the cups i believe that this young man added to my bill after the fact from the customer service standpoint alone in this incident I would never go there again, It is funny to me but now these cups I received remind me of the worst customer service I have had in any bar...
Read moreI enjoyed the variety of alcohol and cocktail flights (vodka, gin, bourbon, rye whiskey, moonshine). You can't go wrong here. I was impressed and slightly overwhelmed with all the different cocktail flights to choose (about a dozen cocktails with different alcohol to choose from). The mini cocktails on the standard menu are 1/2 ounce (limit up to 3 ounces/person). I really enjoyed the bourbon moscow mule (the vodka one wasn't as good) and the spiked hot chocolate. I would skip the caramel apple with vodka, it was a bit too sugary sweet for me.
In addition to the cocktail flights, there are some seasonal signature drinks (full-size cocktails: 1 ounce). I got the S'mores cocktail and watched in awe as the bartender smoked the glass on the barrel and blowtorched the marshmallow! It was sooo cool! Although the cocktail didn't have a smoky flavor, I really enjoyed the smell and the presentation! It wasn't a traditional S'mores cocktail that I expected, it was honey bourbon neat with chocolate bitters. If you are looking for more of a sweeter chocolate boozy cocktail, I recommend the spiked hot chocolate.
My fiancee enjoyed the neat flight. As a gift and to his delight, I bought him a bottles of honey bourbon and rye bourbon. I would definitely come back to check out new cocktails and recommend adding Silverback...
Read moreLOVE, LOVE, LOVE Silverback Distillery. We were first introduced to Silverback by Madison at Taste of the Valley in Luray, VA. It was a love at first taste relationship. Finally had an opportunity to travel down to the Nelson 151 (which we learned about on this trip) and our top spot to visit, you guessed it, Silverback. It was everything we wanted it to be, family run, hosts/pourers that greatly enjoy their work, a large wooden silverback to greet us at the entrance, knowledge and love of spirits by everyone involved. Since we have done tastings two years in a row at Taste of the Valley, we went with 3.5oz drinks, an alpha elixir and a Moscow mule for starters. Finished it off with the Smoked S’Mores. Had an opportunity to speak with the owner and learn more about her journey. Left with the blackback honey rye and a t-shirt. Looking forward to Madison’s and Silverback Distillery’s return to Taste of the Valley and our return to...
