I’ve been a return customer for a few years now, but after this past weekend probably won’t be back. I drove an hour for a specific set of plates that (what I thought) had cups and saucers as well. On the plates it’s labeled $25 for the set, with the brand name. This specific set has been sitting in the attic for at least a year, and I’ve always thought they were so pretty, just didn’t have a purpose for them until now. So I left the sweltering hot attic to get a basket at the desk for this set. My mom, who was with me, decided to ask the dude at the front counter (just to be sure) if the cups/saucers were included with the larger plates. Such a simple question met with attitude and no respect. He was extremely short with us in his reply of “it’s the lady’s day off and I won’t be selling it this weekend.” And when we tried to simply ask if there was a way to hold it to the side, to leave our information, or try to work something out, just more rude and disrespectful tone from this guy. If he had simply been respectful and just politely said something along the lines of “I don’t feel comfortable selling the plates today because I’m not sure if the cups/saucers go with the rest of this set” I would have taken that answer and just told him that I would return at a later date. But I am not someone that tolerates rudeness, and as much as I have enjoyed making hour long trips to visit your store and even covesville, I will no longer come back here. Especially as long as that man is employed. Something needs to be discussed among the owner and sellers about unmarked or partially marked items/sets having a price point to go off of so that your employees can give customers a price or something. Just so people who drive hours to keep you in business can leave with the item(s)...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at this antique store. I purchased a pin that turned out to be broken, and when I returned the very next day to ask about a return, the employee was shockingly rude and unprofessional. I wasn’t expecting a guaranteed refund, but I did expect to be treated with basic courtesy. Instead, I was spoken to in a harsh and impolite manner.
What made things even worse was the response from the owner. When I calmly reached out to her to explain the situation, she abruptly told me and my friends that we were not welcome in the store and asked us to leave. We were speaking respectfully the entire time, so her reaction was both surprising and hurtful.
I can’t help but feel that I was treated unfairly because I am Muslim. The way we were spoken to and dismissed felt deeply personal and discriminatory. This experience left me feeling humiliated and unwelcome, and I would strongly caution others—especially those from diverse backgrounds—before stepping...
Read moreI found this store to be full of really cool and curious items. I would have attached a picture of each booth but Google apparently limits the upload to 50 pictures. One should expect to see many more interesting things when visiting the store in person. This was our third visit here, the quality of items here keeps bringing us back. We purchased quite a few items yesterday and expect to buy more in the future as well. The staff was welcoming and obliging. Check it out if you’re in the area, I think you’ll be...
