My wife and I purchased a dining room set here today, we were very satisfied with the Experience. As soon as we walked in, we were hooked. Everything is nicely laid out. They have a large variety of decor and furniture, and the place is full to the rafters, but it doesn't look cluttered.

I am a huge fan of their pricing model, i'm not sure if other consignment places follow it, but the price on items is marked down depending on how long the item has been available for purchase, so we were able to get 15% off or so on the dining set we bought.

It being a Saturday morning, there was a small table next to the door with coffee and donuts, and lemonade for us non-coffee drinkers. The employees were very nice and helpful, and not pushy at all, probably because they were getting their cut no matter what, no dirty haggling!

Overall, we loved visiting this store, it saved us a trip to look at overpriced furniture in Asheville. However, I do have one small complaint, the store doesn't offer delivery. The employee who sold us the dining set said he could provide me with business cards of delivery companies in the area, but they didn't offer delivery themselves; so if you don't have a truck or a trailer, make plans ahead of time (they will hold furniture up to a week though, in case you need to make arrangements...

Used to love Scallywags and have been a customer for a long time, myself and my family, until I was verbally attacked and belittled by one of the owners in front of numerous customers. The proper thing to do would have been to pull me to the side and speak to me civilly and calmly. Not rush up on me in the middle of the store and be confrontational and rude. It was very unnerving and I was completely taken off guard. Very unprofessional and rude. We’ve spent a lot of money there over the last 10 years but we will never step foot nor spend another dime in that store again. Response to one of the owners: I do appreciate your gracious response. However, does it really matter what the interaction was over? The point is, is your partner greatly overreacted & was very unprofessional and aggressive in nature which, seems to be a pattern based on what I've read on some reviews. There is a way to handle situations & a way not to. Not just from a professional standpoint but from a human standpoint. My first time their. This place is very eclectic, amazing, very customer friendly. Definitely a must see, I can guarantee you will not leave empty handed. Me and my wife loved it. She found these beautiful set of 8 wine glasses, and I found a very unique nut cracker for our collection. You wind it up, it plays a beautiful tune, the arms moves up and down playing the drum, and the mouth opens and closes. The condition is very good as was the items that we looked at. You can tell these items were all loved and cherished by their previous owners. And when you find something that catches your eye. Grab it! Because someone else will be thinking...
