Eagles Nest Travel Plaza — Local services in Weatherford

Well because i am a lover of eagles, i stopped in here to see what all the fuss was about. Well i didn't have to wait long to find that out. In the eagles nest on the top of the building there was what i thought was a small child, but came to realize was actually a midget that the male eagle had caught in the parking lot and carried up to feed the babies. Easier said than done.... Shorty wasn't having it. He was fighting like his life depended on it ,and now that i think about it, i guess it did. Well he did finally tear free from the clutches of the eagles claws and slid down the pipe on side of building and was welcomed by an angry mob that wanted to see the eagle eat him because he was a Democrat and people in Texas won't tolerate that, even from a midget. I myself bought the little feller a soda and a child sized ice cream. He wanted my autograph and i gave him a miniature bandana that i signed. They have a very clean and well kept store with a wide variety of items everything from Automotive to Fresh pieces of meat to put on the barbecue, they have deer corn and a very wide variety of snack foods including having a Sonic located in the store along with it having a drive-in outside. Definitely not your typical truck stop but has the full station for the trucks along with normal gas pumps. We had a very fast and friendly service from the staff and had to have a laugh about all the animal head mounts they have for sale there I've never seen that in any one of the Travel Center type stores before that I've been in. I would definitely recommend a stop in the store if you're in the Weatherford area the relish area alone was worth the stop. The prices are reasonable and there is a handicap...

First time here and it's a very clean and friendly place. We got some biscuits and gravy and it was delicious. Only thing is we noticed they charged us a different price from what it said on the menu. Biscuits and gravy show $4.99 but they charged us $5.99 for both. Understood the one with an extra biscuit but the other one didn't have an extra biscuit. So watch your receipts. They have all sorts of goodies from your quick grab snacks, good coffee, drinks and meats like brisket and such so you can take home and cook if you can afford it.
