This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had at any course. Where do I even start? First off, I booked my tee time through the golf course website more than a week prior. My tee time was confirmed by 2 emails and 2 text messages from the course. My father and I were here on vacation from the Philadelphia area. We showed up at the course 35 minutes before our tee time. They ask you to show up 15-20 minutes beforehand so we should have had plenty of time. The lady at the gate gave us direcrions to the course. It was a little bit of a drive. Valet parking was included with the golf. When we got all the way to the course, we were told valet parking was closed and we had to drive almost all the way back to the entrance to park at self parking and they would send a bus for us. It's over a mile back but ok. After the bus gets us and brings us back, another cart comes and takes us the rest of the way to check in. Now we're almost at our tee time so no time to even warm up at all. When we get there, the starter tells us he has no tee time for us and no openings because they have 288 golfers in a tournament. He tells us to check with the pro shop. In the pro shop, they tell me the same thing. I show them my confirmation and they tell me it's because Golf Now messed it up. I didn't book it through Golf Now. I booked it through the course. They say Golf Now runs their website. I don't understand. It's the Saddlebrook golf course website. What does Golf Now have to do with it? They said they told them not to book tee times for today. I asked how I got 4 confirmations if there were no tee times? No real answer except to say it's Golf Now's fault. They brought out someone I assume was the manager and he said he was sorry. He asked if we lived locally. I told him we were here on vacation. Do you think he even offered us a free round? Anything at all? Nope. Not a damn thing. We drove almost 1 1/2 hours to get to the course and nothing. The only person who did anything was the guy working the counter. He called another course, Lake Jovita, and got us on. Thank you for that. He was the only one that did anything. Even the guy that drove us back to our car wasn't surprised this happened. Seems to be the norm. Sorry I can't rate the condition of the course. Never even set foot...
Read moreI had an incredibly disappointing and infuriating experience at Saddlebrook Golf Course that needs to be shared. While playing a round, my wallet fell out of my golf cart on one of the holes. Fortunately, I have an AirTag tracker in my wallet, so I was able to locate it. At first, the tracker showed it was still on the course, but when I went to look, the location updated to the parking lot.
When I arrived at the parking lot, I saw two workers, Noah and Cameron, unloading their golf bags into their car. I told them my wallet was pinging near them. As I got closer, the AirTag connected to my phone, confirming it was right by their car. Suddenly, Noah “found” my wallet under his car, but it was obvious he had just thrown it there to cover up the theft.
When I opened my wallet, over $500 in cash was missing. Noah and Cameron were the only ones who had my wallet. Instead of doing the right thing and turning it in, they stole the cash, lied about where they found it, and tried to play dumb.
I immediately reported this to management, who said they would conduct an investigation and that someone would reach out to me to get my side of the story. However, I never heard from them again. As a resort guest and a first-time player at this course, it’s appalling that they’ve done nothing to address the situation or hold their staff accountable. This tells me they are aware they are hiring untrustworthy employees like Noah and Cameron and are doing nothing to protect their customers.
I want to warn others visiting this resort: Do not trust the workers with your bags, wallets, or anything of value. Noah and Cameron have proven to be untrustworthy and were caught red-handed stealing with no repercussions. Saddlebrook’s failure to take action is unacceptable and shows a complete disregard for the safety and trust of their guests.
I will never return to this course and strongly urge others to reconsider before playing here or leaving anything valuable in the hands of...

Pros: the room seemed to be relatively clean. They provided most reasonable items upon request and made sure to be polite. There were golf carts to take you to and from valet, minimizing the need to walk. The area was very safe as there is a gated security guard due to this being a hotel/homeowner community hybrid and a double lock on your room door. Service was provided timely most times requested. Mattress was 8 out of 10 for comfort.
Cons: if you’re looking for a stay that you’ll be coming and going from regularly, this isn’t the best choice for the money. The car you arrive in needs to be taken by valet every time you come and go (no customer parking lot). While there is a system in place for you to notify staff, it isn’t perfect and there are delays. As there are with the golf carts that take you to and from the valet area. While the room was clean, it was severely outdated. Not to mention, lightly maintained. Our shower drain was clogged, as seen in the photo. The price does not reflect what you are getting in terms of a resort… in fact… I personally feel that calling it a, “resort” is embellishing (a little misleading). There was also only a single trash can in the bathroom, none in the bed/common desk area of the room. The Spa also wasn’t exceptional. The bathroom is extremely outdated.
All in all, if you are not solely golfing at this property… this isn’t the choice for you.
For nearly $200/night, this place is at the very bare minimum for that price point.
Wouldn’t recommend if you weren’t playing golf at all, there are better stays in the area for that price point. Valet is also $30/night, when in reality it’s more of a $20 service for this property. I’d rather pay $20 to valet in this property in particular and tip $5, than...
