Market Square — Local services in West Bloomfield Township

Huge variety at this market's deli: meats, cheeses, cold gourmet salads and cooked food to go. It is beautifully stocked, but the staff is so rude and clearly could care less about providing any customer service! Could not believe it. A guy who approached the counter was in a t-shirt with rolled up sleeves, like James Dean! No store uniform with logo or hat like the rest of the deli staff ignoring customers that day. Stone- faced and acting like he was either doing me a favor or wished he were somewhere else. Spent several years assisting chefs in the catering business-pretty sure a t-shirt goes against ALL Servsafe protocol and the store's protocol as well....

Dropped a staff member off then went inside to wrangle some lunch from the deli. What a selection! And considering the size of the place, it's amazing how much they have in there without it looking or being crowded at all. All the alcohol behind the registers is phenomenal. Shelves so high it gives a new meaning to top-shelf. I saw more brands of gin (a favorite) than I've seen outside of a Total Wine. Made my selections & headed to checkout when I heard the staffer tell the cashier to give me the employee discount. What a nice guy! (as was everyone else I interacted with). Pleasant staff, over priced, mediocre (at best) prepared items. Picked up prepared items for New Years Eve. Meatballs and chicken wings looked wonderful. Turned out that they were over cooked, dried out, and pretty much tasteless. What wasn't thrown out was returned the next day for show and tell. They did not seem at all concerned and offered no explanation. I did not want a refund nor a replacement with more garbage. At their ridiculous prices, the food should be at least palatable.
