Where do I even start with this place. When I moved in last August (2020) there was a leak in my ceiling above my shower. I sent in a maintenence request for it with no response. Finally after several phone calls and waiting around a month they sent someone to cut out the ceiling above my shower. Thats it. They didn't fix it, they cut the ceiling out. It then took them 2 more months with several more phone calls for them to finally replace the ceiling. Several of my other maintenence requests never even got done. Later new management took over and the maintenence got better for a couple of weeks. Right when summer came around my airconditioner broke. maintenence came once, didn't fix it. I sent in another request and they put in a window airconditioner in my room while I waited for them to fix it. They came and fixed the airconditioner then took the window airconditioner out of my room. The next day the AC broke again. Maintenence had to come back and put the window AC back in my room while I waited again. It turns out there was a leak, something they should have checked for the first time seeing as the AC was comepletely drained. To top all of this off there was a storm around the beginning of July that fried all of the internet in my building. We were told we need to call the internet company ourselves to get it fixed which is absurd seeing as the internet is already provided through the apartments, we didn't get a choice as to what company or service we want; management should have handled it. They didn't so I called and I know other people who have called and our building STILL doesn't have any wifi after a month. I took summer classes and they were a huge pain to get done with no internet and just my phone's hotspot. Don't move here. There are so many better options for similar...
Read moreThe management at the quarters, granite student living is horrible. They just come into my room to show ppl and leave the door locked not notifying the current resident. To get into the room they charge $75 to call a person to open it. I think they are super intelligent to steal money from your pocket in any ways. Please be aware! It's my first comment ever on google maps and I really want people to know how bad living here is.
To answer to the response from the owner:
I got notices from the office there will be apartment showing but there was no notice about the door will be locked. I got it noticed via email and text. Maintenance came though I didn't call, and open the door and I was charged for $75. (Yes they charge, if you need to open it after office hours.) Imagine you get back from work and find out your room is locked even though you didn't lock it - very bad experience. I had to call and went through explaining the situation and arguing that it's not fair. We had a conflicting information but the office only heard their employee not a resident about it. Luckily, the fee is not going to be charged because I didn't want the maintenance but anyway the maintenance came. Also the apartment officier visited took a photo of my living room without asking. The bed in the living room is the one I used in the previous apartment and I am keeping it in the living room but the office suspects there maybe extra people in the living room. Overall, not very...
Read moreWhen I joined the quarter's apartment, they told me that I could not start my lease early because they wanted to clean it before handing it to me (Impress with the commitment). However, on the first day(In the U.S), when I reached the apartment coming from an international flight, I was surprised by the apartment's condition. The carpet was full of dust and a huge stain in the center. Also, the kitchen was not in good condition. I could smell the fridge as it was not clean for a long time. I thought, maybe, this is the standard of all the apartment complexes (Sarcasm). After that, I lived there for some time because afraid of shifting to another complex during my graduate life. I didn't have much trouble living there because I was handling issues by myself. However, they were supposed to return my security deposit when I left the apartment. After trying to talk with them several times, it took them just four months to get back to me about the issue with my security deposit. They told me it got lost while sending it to you. So, we will charge you 25$ or more because we lost it(weird Nah!).[ correction: theh somehow didn't charge me extra 25$] Still, it took them whole fall semster to give back my security deposit. Also, a law states that a company is responsible for returning the security deposit in 45 days. But I think these companies don't care about these laws because they have a substantial legal company...
