Absolutely beautiful! I can’t believe I spent a whole year living at The Quarters without going to see this place which is really nearby. Well, I owe that to my zero interests in Hiking before I got into that hobby from my visit to California. I and a friend have decided to go hiking at all of the trails nearby and Celery Bog was the deciding factor for that. We will see more places and I will review them here. You should go to this place before all the leaves fall off. You will love it! I think there are different trails. I was just surprised Google maps did not recognize it when I typed the particular trail “Cattail” Trail we hiked in. Aside...

One of the hidden gems for the birding community! Each migration season you don’t have to guess where I’ll be, Celery Bog is the only place for me! Hahaha but truly it is the perfect stop for sand hill cranes, cackling geese, red tailed hawks, bald eagles, mute swans, osprey, northern harriers, cormorants, eastern screech owls, hooded mergansers, snowy geese, warblers, pileated woodpeckers, nuthatches, cardinals, you name it! I’ve loved coming here, and walking the trails never gets old, even after five years of exploring! Definitely make a stop and enjoy it for yourself!

Update: there’s a new eastern screech owl! And a family of muskrats 😊...

Great free local park run by the City of West Lafayette. They have a nature center that offers programs for the community at various times. Lots of hiking trails with great scenery. The trails can get a little muddy, but they try to keep them mulched as much as possible, or have board walks over the wetest areas. The park is open year round during daylight hours. The nature center has various hours depending on the day of the week. The hiking trails tie into the city hiking trails. Free parking is available also. Restrooms are available when the...

Great place to go for a walk or a hike. You could easily spend a long time here, as there are miles of trails and various paths to take. Unfortunately, I was only able to spend about 30 minutes here but I was able to observe different types of butterflies and dragonflies. It was quite peaceful and beautiful out there. I went during the summer. It wasn't too hot out, but there are plenty of shaded areas to go in case you go on a hot day. It's a nice place to bring your dog for a walk or just a place to escape.
