It's very easy to give a 5 star review when everything goes according to plan. Beware of this company if things don't. I and other members of my family have purchased many appliances over the years from this store. 2 stopped because of service issues, now 2 more of us will also. I would like to keep this short, unfortunately the events went on for over a week and I want to give all the facts.
Purchased washer and dryer, delivered Mon.11/19/2018. Installed washer in basement brought the dryer down wrong dryer..gas not electric. Took dryer back, installed right dryer. I did a load of wash shortly after they left and hot water coming out for cold. I assumed the hoses were crossed but didn't dare touch anything for fear of voiding warranty. Wanted to check manual, no washer manual 2 dryer manuals. called them.
Wed.11/21 day before Thanksgiving. Service man came, we went downstairs. Huge puddle under the washer. I haven't been in basement since Monday. Obviously a slow leak from installation. The tech pulled the washer out checked the hoses to be sure they weren't crossed and he said they weren't. He was puzzled. I was surprised. He looked at the leak and wasn't sure where it was leaking? I thought it was right at the connection. He ask me for a pair of pliers, he only had 1 pair. He used 2 pair of pliers to tighten the hose to the male PVC connector. I mentioned to him that was pretty tight. I have 20+ years of experience in a precision machine shop and know you do not tighten PVC threads to tight. Of course it stilled leaked. He said I have to send someone out who is qualified to fix it. His words. I turn off the water.
Fri 11/23 day after thanksgiving. Tech came. Pulled out washer. Surprise, surprise hoses were crossed. He tried to fix the leak, it leaked worse. I have to send someone out to fix the leak I am not qualified to fix the plumbing, we'll send someone from plumbing dept. I shut the water off. He kept the washer pulled out so I could vacuum and clean up the water. Later I got a call from the fellow that was here on Wed. They are not coming to fix our leak because we have PVC connectors we need to get someone to install the metal connectors. I called service manager Don Heath left a message. he called be back at a few minutes before 5 I was not home left a message, he works until 5 and is in Sat. until 12. He will be off Mon and Tues.
Sat.11/23 I call 2 times, he is not at his desk. I ask the receptionist to please not transfer me the 3rd time I called. Please give him a hand written message to call me or maybe if it's easier I can just come up and talk to him in person. I had errands I left the house at 11:55 figuring its no use he's not calling back. He called 11:58 sounding very annoyed.
Wed. Nov 11/28 Called Don again several times, told him I would be here until 3:15 he called at 3:26. ( Are you seeing a pattern?) But my husband was. Don was obviously annoyed because we would not accept their explanation for not fixing and taking responsibility for a leak they caused. He said they have pictures of our PVC connectors and let me teach you something about plumbing. My husband said maybe you should teach your service people something about plumbing and why were those connectors OK when LH Brubaker installed our last washer with no issues? And if they thought it was going to be an issue why did they install the washer? And why do you send service people without the proper tools? His answer about the tools. That fellow was the SALES manager. What?? They would not comeback in the meantime it's over a week I didn't use my washer that was still pulled out away from the wall and leaking.
We knew it was a simple fix, my husband fixed it in 10 minutes. He took the hose off,it was crossed threaded, cleaned the threads attached hose, moved the washer back in place level. 25 days and no leaks. How did 2 installers and a sales manager/service tech miss that?
This was about terrible customer service and not being accountable for...
Read moreI do NOT recommend purchasing appliances from LH Brubaker OR having any service performed by them as well. I would give them ZERO STARS but Google makes me give them at least 1 start to post the review.
My husband and I built a new home and at the builder's recommendation, we bought all our appliances at LH Brubaker. We purchased a Gas Stove, Refrigerator, Washer, Gas Dryer, Microwave, and Dishwasher. All appliances were upgraded Frigidaire appliances. When they were installed - 3 of the 6 appliances were installed DENTED. The offered me $75 off as reparation for the dents. I declined and they said they would repair the dented items. The dryer was repaired in the 1st week after moving in - largely due to the fact that they hadn't hooked up the dryer properly (wasn't heating) and had to come out to essentially re-install the dryer. The washer dent was repaired in 2 months later. And right before they came out to repair the washer - when we would use our Gas Oven, it started beeping and saying that the over temperature was 666 degrees. Not good. When they repaired the washer dent...they looked at the Gas Oven and ordered a new board. I had an appointment on the books to repair the Refrigerator dent on November 13th and after several calls to service, they had the part needed to repair the gas oven at the same time. The same day the gas oven was repaired with a new control board - it started its beeping and reporting the temperature at 666 degrees. I called and reported it to the Service Manager, Don Heaps. He said he would check into it. Since then, I have not heard a WORD from either Don Heaps or any other representative from LH Brubaker. I have called several times and left several message. NOTHING. NO WORD. Thanksgiving has come and gone. We were able to cook our Turkey by turning the oven OFF and ON when ever the 666 degree error showed up. While this is just my experience, I don't know any company that would not try their best to give their paying customers quality service. All this has happened in just the first 5 months. Who knows how they will hold up over time.
I do NOT recommend purchasing any appliances from LH Brubaker because of the 6 appliances purchase - 4 of them needed service. I do NOT recommend using LH Brubaker for service. I believe the workers may be qualified, but the management has no concern for paying customers.
Oh, and don't try and call them. No one ever answers the phone and no one...
Read morePlease do NOT use this company. We built a new home and used LH Brubaker for installation of a dishwasher, hood above the range, washer and dryer and refrigerator. Running the dishwasher for the first time caused water to flood our kitchen and the water entered our finished space in the basement below our kitchen. When a technician came out to investigate, they determined that the knockout plug was never removed and the drain line was never installed. This meant that the dishwasher drained out below our sink. It was clear that the installation was never done and the appliance was never tested. This caused nearly $10,000 in damage and would have been much worse had we not immediately identified the problem. After the new technician "finished" the installation, we ran another load in the dishwasher and once again it leaked. It was determined that the new technician merely hand tightened the clamp that held the drain line onto the garbage disposal. We finally resorted to having a plumber come out to finish the installation properly since we no longer trusted LH Brubaker.
Months later, after the hood continued to cause a breaker to trip, we investigated further and found that the installer from LH Brubaker had cut and exposed electrical wire inside the junction box that was contacting the metal junction box itself. This burned a hole through the metal box and could have just as easily caused a fire.
This company is dangerously incompetent - quality control and customer service are non-existent. Please learn from our experience and choose a different company for your...
