I've played paintball for 9 years at many fields, and I can honestly tell you that you should do yourself a favor and bring your private party or walk on group somewhere else. Seriously, avoid this place like the plague. Read the other low reviews besides mine and you'll see that I'm not the only one that thinks that the staff is especially unpleasing.
Make sure to read this before you decide to go here:
Battlecreek has great maps and isn't in the middle of nowhere in NJ, however what makes it so horrible is the staff. They may seem nice at first, but they will be rude and not have any tact when dealing with their customers.
My group made a mistake and had one of our rentals shooting outside paint with their gun, which was a misunderstanding on our part since only own equipment users can use their own paint, but we got disrespected by a referee that didn't have to treat us the way that he did. It was an honest mistake - the website as of 8/7/22 (maybe they change it later) is misleading. There is a small white paper in the top left corner of the window stand that says no outside paint for rentals but I don't think thats enough of a warning since we walked by countless times without anybody in my group noticing.
Hours later when I was renting a tank for one of my first timers, the man in the front condescendingly (and publicly) corrected me as I was an idiot when I handed it to the wrong person thinking that it was meant for someone else behind me that was also renting equipment.
This field is keeping players away from itself or even from playing paintball again from the way they treat their guests. None of the staff was professional nor spoke with dignity and respect.
There are so many better places worth the drive that isn't this one. Go to Long Live, Cousins, or literally anywhere else down the road. You'll have a much better time. There are better people that work at those fields, and trust me, it makes all the difference.
I would be happy to elaborate on a reply to...
Read moreWe came with a group of 12 for a private event, and we had a great time from start to finish for the most part.
I spoke with Chris on the phone and he was very helpful and he was able to reserve us a private event with less than a days notice. He was very clear and there was never any confusion as to what we were paying for or what kind of package we were receiving. We paid 55 per person, which included all rental equipment, 1000 paintballs per person, and 4 hours of playing with the private ref.
Our private referee was Dennis. We had a great time with him, and he did an excellent job. Nothing more needs to be said. If we return for another group outing, we will definitely request him.
The fields themselves were maintained and varied well enough. My only gripe with the fields is that every single one was on some type of incline, I would have preferred some flat land to play on (my thighs are still on fire). The fields were also a bit heavy on rocks, so make sure you have good shoes, and maybe even some cheap knee pads just to save yourself from some suffering later.
My only issue we had with our trip is the check-in process. The office was a madhouse, none of us had any idea who to talk to or what to do. My biggest gripe with the check-in process was the kid with the long hair who seemed to be in charge. He was so rude and condescending to anyone that spoke to him, I just wanted to slap him to next Tuesday. He needs a refresher course in customer service ASAP.
Side note: While checking and buying equipment I noticed a lot of people were really confused with how the groupon worked. I didn't use one but I looked and noticed they had several different listings on groupon all with similar packages but different prices and descriptions. I would call to confirm what you get with the groupon...
Read moreFirst off, I enjoy paintball and always assume the bruises that can come with the fun...but for a business hosting something so potentially dangerous, they certainly didn't seem like they cared about safety. If you are to allow people to bring their own airsoft guns, the LEAST you could do is use the velocity testers that you have. Letting people crank-up their air pressure and play with it that way leads to people getting hit so hard they don't even want to play anymore. Just to break down the issues I had overall: Obvious players turning up their velocity and not getting checked. People shooting their guns in the waiting area (Where no one is wearing a mask). Eventually one of the workers came over and said "Hey guys don't do that". An airsoft player came running past us in full-stride while we were walking up the hill to the forest area yelling "THERES A BEAR OVER THERE" our guide then continued to walk in that direction...that's a disaster waiting to happen. (Our entire group was witness to this) One player left his rental gun on the floor where we were playing, we came back to the waiting area because it started to down pour...the guide told him "Oh, then go get it". So he went off by himself. At one point a small child (Not in our large group) randomly came onto the field, then walked off crying after getting shot at point-blank rage no more than 20ft away from the visible refree, considering they were the last 2 players on the field there should have been a point-blank rule in affect. Felt bad for the little guy.
I've played at multiple paintball places in the NJ/PA area and none of them cared less about safety than this one. Not only that but we came in a group large enough to not need extra players, yet random people literally walked-on while we...
