If I could give a negative rating, I certainly would. Show of hands - has anyone EVER been to a restaurant that pushes back when asked for a to go box? Especially when said customer spent nearly $200 at their establishment? Anyone? Well, if not, please visit lightning bowl! Your one stop shop for being treated like a bad rash.
Want to be surveilled more than a death row inmate? Come to lightning bowl!
Want to be told the customer is wrong? Leave a bad review for lighting bowl! psst Iâm waitingâŠ
Seriously though, management here must be complete tyrants at this establishment the way the employees were treating us on our one and only visit. Itâs the only excuse I can conceivably see as to why the girl behind the counter tried giving me a zip-lock bag when I asked for a box for the leftover 2 large pizzas we ordered. I denied that and asked for a box, didnât matter the size, and she rolled her eyes and reluctantly got me a box. Does anyone want to know HOW they knew we had 1/4 pizza left? My only guess is they were watching us on the cameras to see, which is absolutely laughable and petty.
Also, my 8 and 11 year old daughters are not the strongest bowlers in the world, and needed a kids ball, of which were NON to be found. I asked the kid behind the counter where those were and he VERY hesitantly gave me I think their only kids ball in the entire bowling alley, but told me the 8 year old could use it, but the 11year old couldnât. He ended up coming out and telling me the manager said the 11 yo could use it, but come on. This is the only bowling alley in 42 years of life that doesnât freely offer 6-8 lb balls to use for children.
Iâm waiting for a response from Lightning Bowl telling me Iâm wrong in every single claim I have. But let me assure you, the claims are true. This place has enough bad reviews and in everyone of them, this place tells the customer they are wrong. Has anyone ever seen a place that is half-way...
Read moreThis place deserves 0 starts but since I had no choice but to give a star, I gave one.. my friends and I are kidless for the night so we decided to go bowling, we live almost 45 mins away and choose to come here. First off, it was $44 all together for two games for four of us. If you ask me, thatâs ridiculous. Into our second game my friend guttered his first ball and went to throw his second ball and he didnât know the pin guard was still down so he threw the ball and it hit the guard. Immediately, he felt bad and went to find the owner. The owner was walking towards us completely irate and started going off on my friend word for word he said âyou need to start paying attention because I donât have insurance on this and I hope you have deep pockets if itâs broke to pay for it. These cost around $1,000!â My friend was trying to apologize and tell him he was sorry and he wouldnât even let him talk and just walked away. I made sure to tell him that maybe he should look into getting insurance and that if he wanted to be rude about it, we would ever come back. We didnât even finish our game, we grabbed our stuff, left our shoes, and left. While walking out my husband stopped to apologize to another worker and explain to him that our friend was sorry and he said âwell maybe your friend needs to pay attention.â Like yes, we get it. He should of paid attention but he sincerely didnât do it on purpose. Absolutely rude people and will not be back, ever. We will start taking our business to...
Read moreMy family arrived at 4 when they opened to avoid people as my husband and I are disabled veterans and try to avoid big crowds. We brought our two small children with us and our FES. I would say this place is not child friendly specifically (1-5 y/o). Owner is very strict and wants to keep his place in pristine condition. Not a bad thing, just a heads up for families planning on bringing their littles.
Edit to add: To owner, to clarify some things, we did pull the snacks out of our diaper bag to find a granola bar for each of our small kids (1&2) while they were sitting in place. We did not open any candy or chips out for them to eat, we were solely trying to find things in our bag. We even put everything else away while you were approaching us. We understand how some foods/snacks can be messier than others (especially with children). You did not come up to us with the explanation of safety as you stated in your response. You specifically brought up food not passing a certain line on the floor because you did not want to damage your bowling lanes. That a is a perfectly reasonable explanation on its own. Bowling equipment is expensive and we understand that repairs and maintenance can be too. You have a very nice place and you want to keep that way. We personally just didnât have a...
