West Point Antiques — Local services in West Point

My brother-in-law took me to West Point, VA to show me the rivers. While we were there he drove me through the town. I happened to see the antique store, and I decided to take a look, since I buy antiques. We had left his home in a hurry, so I didn't have my mask. His doctor won't let him wear one, because he has a heart condition. The man behind the counter would not let him come in without a mask, even though the man himself was not wearing his own mask correctly (it was not even touching his nose, which was fully exposed). This is discrimination and what the man did is actually against the law in Virginia. Since we had left Bill's house in a hurry, I did not think to grab one of my many masks from my car, so I did not have one. The man offered to sell me a mask for $2.50. I probably would have bought one if it had been a dollar. In Lexington, SC, where I live, if you get to a store and forgot your mask, most places just give you one, so I was surprised that he was selling them for $2.50. Then as we were leaving he said something like, "I'll see you at the funeral." Illegal discrimination was not enough, he needed to insult us. Maybe he thought we were political activists or something like that, but I have no desire to ever go again to the town...

When I first moved to town, this was my unofficial welcome center. They are open 7 days a week and I would find myself wandering in on the weekends to explore all of the fun rare finds.
