My husband and I arrived at about 10 am on Tuesday morning. We were told the rides were first come, first serve and that the next available rides were at 1:00 pm. We were not able to wait that long. We asked if we could be put down for the next morning (Wednesday) at 9:00 am. She reminded us that there are no reservations but she would put our names on "the list" and if we showed up at 9 we would be good to go. We of course show up at nine before the gate is even open. You would think since our names were already on the list and we showed up on time/early we would have been fine. Nope. We were told there weren't enough horses and would have to wait a couple of hours, despite it being first come first severed and we were clearly in the front of the line and the only names actually on the elusive "list". We didn't have a couple of hours as we were supposed to be driving home today. On top of this the girl who was saddling up the horses was visibly annoyed at her job, they were short staffed, not enough horses, and there seemed to be very little communication between staff members who we assume are family? There is a really simple solution to this problem. Take paid reservations! Money in your pocket if they don't show up. You will have a good idea of how many will be there so you can be properly staffed, and limit the amount of riders so you have enough horses. Needless to say we were extremely disappointed and will not go back or recommend anyone to go there. Very poorly...
Read moreToday I attended a rodeo event with my family during the vacation, and unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. My son participated in one of the shows where kids were awarded ribbons from the little cow and prizes. Although he got a ribbon, he was neither called up to receive a prize nor acknowledged for his efforts. I initially thought prizes were only given to the first-place winner, but in the second round, I noticed that all the kids who got ribbons were called up to get their prizes, except for my son.
This left me feeling extremely mistreated, particularly because my son was the only Asian participant. Despite my son informing the organizer that he also grabbed a ribbon but he was ignored and the organizer didn’t say anything to him. This incident felt discriminatory, and it's disheartening to see my child being treated unfairly.
I hope the event organizers can take this feedback seriously and ensure that all children, regardless of their race, are treated equally and fairly in...
Read moreWe visited Friday, July 24th, had reservations for a 6:00 trail ride and then stayed for the rodeo. I am a larger woman, I was very scared and nervous (as horseback riding isn't really my thing), struggled getting on the horse but the staff (young men and women) were encouraging and helpful. They got me on that horse! Snopa, was a gentle giant and good horse. He did his thing, while I practiced breathing techniques to remain calm LOL. The rest of my family had a blast. My 8 year son, loved it! The trail ride was about an hour, took you through the forest and along a pond. Very pretty. Our guide Lexi had a great personality. We enjoyed watching her perform in the rodeo. We loved the small, intimate feel of the rodeo. The "clown" and announcer were funny. They did a great job involving the crowd. The crowd was fun. It was just long enough, with a variety of events. While there is no mask enforcement, you were not made uncomfortable if you wore yours. I think it was time and...
