Pike County Light and Power's service is consistently abysmal and fails to meet the most basic expectation of a power company: reliable electricity.
Power outages are a constant, disruptive occurrence, happening even during perfectly calm, clear weather. These aren't isolated incidents; they're a pattern of failure. And when the power inevitably goes out? Be prepared to wait for hours while your life is put on hold. Their response times are unacceptable and show a blatant disregard for customers.
To add insult to injury, they charge premium rates for this substandard service. Instead of investing in infrastructure to prevent these constant failures, they have the audacity to push for yet another rate increase in our area. Paying more for less reliability is simply unacceptable.
I've never experienced such persistent issues with any other utility provider. The combination of frequent outages, painfully slow restoration, and exorbitant (and rising) costs makes Pike County Light and Power the worst utility company I've ever dealt with.
Save yourself the frustration and disruption if you have any choice. (Written by flashlight - the power is out... again.)
Update: They posted on their Facebook page about the outage and when I commented advising that this is the second one in a month and others started to join in, they blocked me. There was no profanity, no threats, nothing bad… they just didn’t wanted to make it look like there was no wrong doing.
This company is a...
Read moreThe DO NOT deserve even one star. Our electric bill has DOUBLED. They don't show the month you're paying compared to the same month in the prior year. They have wrongly charged individuals for nearby corporate use. They DO NOT offer OFF-PEAK savings; a standard among other companies. The website is incomplete so all options are not available. The company is indeed a diversity brand of CORNING GLASS, both located in Corning, NY. Pike County is their first venture into electricity, so residents are an experiment included among their gas holdings. They have the worst customer service ever known in more than 50 years of paying for electricity -- yelling at customers and giving you disinformation. Customer service: -- outright lies to customers -- is incredibly ignorant, -- believes they can bully clients, -- or thinks we're dumb because we live in Pennsyl-tucky.
What are our options? None...
Read moreLooks like PCLP blocked me from posting on their Facebook page or commenting on their posts. Here's what I posted yesterday before I was blocked. Guess they didn't like it and I guess we'll never get an answer: Got bill today for period May 24-June 24. The electric supply charge was 6.523 cents per kilowatt hour, HOWEVER that rate did not go into effect until June 2, well into this billing period. Why were customers charged 6.523 cents per kilowatt hour for this entire bill period when, in fact, the charge at the beginning of the billing cycle was 2.895 cents per kilowatt hour?...
