I purchased two Quick Fire Hydrangeas from Sundown Gardens in 2023. When they were finally delivered and installed—after a frustrating 3-month delay—it was immediately clear that one plant was significantly smaller than the other. Fast forward a year and a half later, and there’s still a stark difference: one has grown into a large, healthy shrub while the other remains undersized. Both plants are healthy, but clearly not the same variety. Despite sharing photos and raising my concerns, Sundown Gardens has refused to acknowledge the obvious difference in size and type. I believe I received one Little Quick Fire and one standard Quick Fire, making my landscape look visibly uneven and unbalanced. Their only response was to recommend I fertilize one and prune the other—which I’ve done. With my background in agriculture and biological engineering, and agronomy, I can confidently say this isn’t a maintenance issue—it’s a mislabeling and fulfillment issue. Unfortunately, Sundown Gardens refuses to take accountability or offer a replacement. Disappointed in their customer service and unwillingness to stand by their products. I won’t be purchasing from them again. Rosie's Gardens in Carmel is where we buy our amazing plants. Rosie’s is absolutely top-notch! Every plant we've purchased from them has been healthy, vibrant, and has thrived beautifully in our yard. Their team is knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can tell they care about both their products and their customers. Their plant selection is fantastic, and their pricing is more than fair—especially considering the quality you’re getting. On top of that, their warranty policy is clear, reasonable, and they actually stand behind it, which is rare these days. We've had nothing but great experiences with Rosie’s, and we recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their landscaping. Truly one of the best around! UPDATE 7.1.2025! You can now read their canned response, which clearly highlights their lack of plant knowledge. Both plants were installed at the same time by their own technicians, using the soil amendments they provided. They receive the same sunlight, water, and nutrients, as they are planted in the exact same substrate on the same side of the house. One plant is now twice the size of the other and significantly hardier. Even at delivery, the size difference was obvious. I’m an Agricultural Engineer with a background in agronomy and have owned a landscape company. I gave it six full growing seasons to see if the smaller plant would "catch up"— it hasn’t. When I reached out for assistance they said I "should stop fertilizing one plant and over feretilize the other". Wow, They really know their stuff.... Sundown Gardens’ dismissive approach is exactly why they’re falling behind in the local nursery market.

If you're looking for the absolute best landscape design and implementation, you've found it. Todd Erb and his crew completed our front yard landscape last Spring and started on our back yard this Spring. Highly creative in design and implementing native plants and trees that create a very cohesive oasis in our property. Todd's crews are extremely professional, punctual and are committed to bringing the design on paper to life in your yard. They will be coming back next Spring to complete the backyard project. The pictures speak for themselves- great local company and we highly recommend! Edited Post: Since Todd Erb retired from Sundown Gardens, Craig Alexander took up the mantle and helped us complete our landscaping project. Craig and his lead foreman, Christian were wonderful to work with and did a phenomenal job completing our project. Again, the pictures speak for themselves. We, obviously, highly recommend Sundown Gardens for your landscaping.

12/10!!! Sundown Gardens is AMAZING! Kay is absolutely wonderful and helped us customize some floral baskets for our design studio. She was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. Every time I go to Sundown, I'm in awe of the variety and quality. My family and i have purchased seasonal florals and plants and trees from there. We wouldn't go anywhere else. Plus their seasonal celebrations are super cute. Thank you, Sundown!

We made a significant investment choosing Sundown to design and install over 50 plants in our backyard. They are priced on the higher end of the market but with a good design and the promise of a one year warranty we made the commitment.

The initial install was delayed with very little communication but finally happened after several reschedules and looked good. When plants died off within the warranty is when we really had problems.

Several emails, texts, and phone calls went unreturned. When they finally came out they tried negotiating half of the cost of replacement and made us feel like they were doing us a favor. Months and months passed with dead plants They even told us to call their wholesaler to schedule a tree replacement. That was a funny one, he was in Florida on vacation for a month or two and told us he'd get back to us when he returned. They told us there was nothing they could do about it. That was their only "tree guy".

Classic job of over promising and under delivering and the problems go all the way up to ownership. They should either lower prices and drop the one year warranty or make the investment and cultural changes within the company to deliver on what's been promised. Ultimately they seemed frustrated when we called them out for not returning calls or texts and wanting our plants and trees replaced. Not a good feeling for home owners - especially if you've invested tens of thousands of dollars with them. You get the feeling that their bread and butter is large corporate accounts or home owners who won't hold them accountable for timely and warrantied service.

This is the first and only one star review...

I had a very expensive paver patio installed as well as landscaping. Sundown moved a French drain to a location which now is creating a huge problem between my neighbors and I’s house. The lawn is dead and mildew is growing. The plants and trees look very ill and are half dead. When I called them about it, they told me to wait until next year to see if they make it. We have spent the entire summer looking at an unbecoming landscape that was better before they came in with these plants! They forgot a stone feature in the install and when I called them about it, they dropped a huge stone off while I wasn’t home that doesn’t match the patio and sticks out like a sore thumb but it’s too large for me to move or do anything with. The most frustrating part is actually getting ahold of someone that will actually do something about it. Once you write the check.... you’re no longer a meaningful customer. Incredibly disappointed with the quality and service. Choose...
