I am extremely upset, disappointed, and generally disgusted with a recent transaction with R Gavigan. Pictured below is what I ordered and paid $3400 for on 4/18/24. Also pictured is what was delivered on 9/12/24. The piece delivered is a completely different color, has a white paint within the grain of the wood, is distressed texture (opposed to the smooth texture I was promised) and is simply not what I ordered. I immediately called R Gavigan furniture, sent photos of the delivered items, and was told there was nothing they could do and they would not be refunding our money or accepting a return. I expressed my concern that simply we did not get what we ordered and that perhaps it was damaged or scuffed because the white paint is so apparent. I also offered to accept store credit in attempt to get something similar to what I initially ordered . I ordered a product and didnât get that product. They now refuse to return my calls or work with me in any way. I have never had such a negative experience with a business before. I am truly disgusted and saddened and still in disbelief that a store can get away with this. Also note- the furniture took 5 months to arrive despite being told 6-8 weeks. I implore you to please reconsider before doing any business with this company. They do not deliver on any promise and then when you are delivered a damaged and incorrect item- they will not help you nor refund your money or work with you in any capacity. I went in about a month ago and found 2 sectional couches that I liked and took pictures with the prices to show the wife. First couch was $1999, and the 2nd couch was $3800. We went back to the store during there huge sale thinking we would get one of the couches cheaper. We walked to the 1st couch and the price was marked up to over $5000 with an X over the price. I asked the employee the price of the couch and he said they could do it for $3200. I said ok, and then walked over to the 2nd sectional that I previously looked at for $3800 and they had it marked up to $7500 with an X over the price. So I asked the employee the price and he said it was $5400. I then asked the employee why they marked up the prices over double and showed him the pictures of the prices of the 2 couches from a month prior. He said he was brought in for help during the big sale and has only been there a week and didnât know about the prices before. He even brought his manager over who couldnât give me an answer on why they marked up the prices that much but did say they would sell the couch for the price that I saw a month prior. Long story short, donât go during there big sale events because itâs a complete rip off. We have bought furniture from them in the past and it was a great experience but this time was a complete joke...
   Read moreEdit from the recliner I ordered- I donât leave bad reviews but people need to be informed we had sectional we purchased delivered and then went back to purchase a recliner bc our lazy boy was getting worn. We decided to pick it up in linthicum to save on delivery fee, and buy the protection plan. When we get it home it has a bad imperfection. I call them and they say since we picked it up we have to take it back and they fix it and then go pick it up again. We live a hour away from where it will go. They have a service that will come to your house to fix it but they wonât do that since it was picked up and not delivered, if it was delivered they would come out to us. Very unfortunate, Iâve bought 2 sectionals from gavigans over the last 6 years. The customer service isnât the best at this location, itâs owned by another family member with different management. And donât buy the protection plan because you canât use that either in this situation. So now we have a recliner we paid $1441 for and has a mark on it.
Very happy with my purchase. They said the couch would come in 4-6 weeks and we got the couch in 4 weeks. The delivery men did a very good job setting up and very professional and hid the power cord for me for power recliner. Our living room is small so we had to customize the sectional.
