The customer service for this company is AWFUL.
I had just received my Omega Juicer (Purchased on Amazon Canada) and used it only a couple times when the mechanism jammed up during a juice and I was unable to unlock it or remove any of the pieces from the main part. I was unable to use it or open it up to clean it. I reached out to the company, they responded initially, but then, stopped. I followed up for months, with no answer. I had to throw away the juicer because the pulp stuck inside started to rot and reek. Finally someone answered me months later and said that they would sent me a new juicer. They did. This was at the begging of the year. Last month, I received a letter from a collections agency stating that I owed UPS for duty and shipping fees (I live in Canada.) First of all, the company never told me that I would be responsible for any fees, nor should I have to be, since the juicer should have never stopped working after so little use. I had no idea I was owing anything until I received the collections notice.
I contact the Legacy company about it right away and attached the letter. They responded immediately and and they would look into it and get back to me. I followed up several times after getting no response, only to be told they were still looking into it. Weeks later, still nothing. I followed up again only to be asked for the supporting document again? SO was it not being looked after? Now, I have noticed that this has affected my credit score. I have NEVER been late on any payments, and have a great credit score, and now, because of this company it has been hit...they won't even help!!!!!!
Will never do business...
Read moreFirst of all, I bought the Chef's Choice slicer 610 model years ago, which is now owned by the Legacy Companies. Recently I broke a little black plastic piece called the slicer deflector. I was not able to find a replacement online so I called the customer service, after waiting for a long long time to get to a rep, then finally got a rep to answer my call, she had no idea what I was talking about and I was asked to email directly to her with a picture, so I did, but never got a response back. A week later I called the customer service again, same thing, emailed the rep directly and never heard back again.
So I decided to write an email directly to their customer service email address listed online, but never got a response, and I also submitted an inquiry directly through the form on the website, and still never got a response.
Then I called for the third time and I complained about my situation, finally the rep did some research and asked someone senior and found out the slice deflector is called the scraper on their website, while the instruction manual itself calls it the slicer deflector, no wonder everyone is confused. The good news is that they do sell this scraper on their website, but the bad news is for model 609A, 610 and 615, they use the same scraper, which is $30!!! While, the other two scrapers for the other models are only $3 and $5. The $5 one is for the high-end models and is much bigger and a clear plastic that looks much more expensive than the $30 one, what gives???? So...
Read moreThis review is for The Legacy Companies Trizor XV Electric Knife Sharpener. Actually is is more of a review on what I consider to be "questionable" business practice by the Legacy Companies in the way they market this product.
America's Test Kitchen recommended the "Chef's Choice Model 15XV" electric knife sharpener. So I bought it mail order from Sur La Table. The Legacy Companies is the manufacturer.
The appliance arrived in a box labeled "Chef's Choice, Model 15XV." But when you take the product out of the box, it does not show that designation on the front of the unit, LIKE IT SHOWS ON THE BOX, and when you turn the unit over, the label on the bottom says Model 15. Hmmm.
I reached out to The Legacy Companies via email and got several mumbo jumbo non-direct answers as to "why" I received a product that shows 15XV on the box, the specific model recommended by America's Test Kitchen, but IN the box was a Model 15. One of the answers was, "The are basically the same model". I don't want "basically the same". I don't want bait and switch. Is The Legacy Companies trying to get rid of an older model, the 15, but putting it in a box that says 15XV? That seems like a more plausible answer.
I finally gave up on trying to get a straight, understandable answer out of The Legacy Companies customer support and will be sending the Model 15 posing as a Model 15XV back to Sur La Table. Not...
