I am writing this review to thank Pam. She is one of the people helping the lifeguards getting certified through Red Cross. I would like to thank her for rejecting my friend and I today for the fact we are Hispanic. We are not blonde, blue eyed ,or super skinny. We are just two Mexican-American girls with hopes and dreams like any other girl. Very quickly we noticed we were the only ones of that back ground in a group of about 7 of us. It was obvious that we were not welcomed for our ethnicity. Ms Pam. You humiliated us in front of everybody there by laughing at us with the rest of the lifeguards on duty. Which I would like to point out that is also very dangerous since a lifeguard should not be distracted in that way, to add on to these I even slipped on the edge of the pool and have an extremely large and swollen bruise on the back of the my thigh. When this happened not one lifeguard was aware or asked me if I was okay not even Pam. Laughing and giggling at people simply trying their best is not only disgusting and beyond unprofessional. But also highly disrespectful and insulting to your values and the morals of the facility you work for. I would like to end this by thanking you for the life lesson. To keep advancing in our career and also keep developing as a person beyond the pool. With not only swimming skills but beliefs as well. Keeping our moral compass high and maintaining an open mind with everybody and anybody of any ethnicity, gender, religion, race, and body type. My friend and I are Ellis trained (A much more thorough certification process) Lifeguards and CPR and AED trained by the American Heart...
Read moreI went in today for the lifeguard training position,Pam helps lifeguards get certified through Red Cross. She comes in late 20 minutes. Then we start with swimming tests,All she did was laugh with the rest of the lifeguards which is extremely unprofessional, especially if they work as a team. She later told me “you’re not ready to be a lifeguard” when I’m already Ellis certified.Later my friend slips from the pool and I was the only person that noticed. But I couldn’t save her because I’m obviously not guarding or have equipment to do so.While almost 10 lifeguards were “on duty” they didn’t notice or At least said “are you okay” to her .Additionally they are getting payed which the training people are not ;for the online portion for American red cross (20 hours) and no pay for in person (24 hours as well).Overall the experience was horrible,it didn’t feel welcoming and the pool peeled my skin from all the chlorine.0/5 stars.I recommend checking other park...
