Trillium Event Center — Local services in Whetstone Township

My friend Nicole got married at this venue Saturday Oct 19th, 2024. If I could give this venue a negative review, I definitely would. My experience at my friends wedding was defiantly not a good one because of the environment and because of the constant questioning, belittling, authoritarian tone of the Event Coordinator Maggie. Upon entering the venue I thought the venue was pretty and welcoming and I was very excited for my friends, but less than a half hour later that quickly changed. I was in the kitchen, getting items ready, ect, with my fiancé Ron. Maggie comes into the kitchen very fast and asks me what I am doing, I tell her I am getting the cold foods out and seeing what foods is there. She said do you not know what you are doing! She was rude, snotty, trying to down grade me telling me to calm down, when I was calm, and she was telling me to do things as if I was her employee or hired help. I told Maggie I was not a professional caterer, I was just trying to help ect I asked her who she was ,and this is when I learned she was the Event Coordinator Maggie. After this incident she then went around telling multiple guests that I had a nervous break down in the kitchen and I was threatening to leave. I find this behavior not acceptable at all treating customers, customers family and friends like this, especially making comments towards one’s mental health.Nicole and Josh”s wedding to me is bittersweet due to it being a beautiful wedding and I love and am excited for them, but the multiple incidents with the event coordinator Maggie being intrusive, demanding, controlling and authoritative over the bride and guests it upset me and ruined...

The space was fine and the price was fair.

We did not use the in house catering, rather we brought in our caterers.

Overall the experience was fine. However, staff that was there really micro managed everything we did. To the point that it became invasive, intrusive and irritating. Our caterer was very put off by the constant “suggestions” that were unsolicited, unwarranted, and unnecessary.

Initially the staff advised us the “do’s and don’ts” so we were familiar with the standards that was expected. We provided a required $1M liability policy to cover us against any damage. Yet every move we made was scrutinized.

We didn’t require help to set up yet the staff was there. Directly involved with our event. We didn’t ask for it and certainly became irritated as the intrusion persisted. While we understood that the staff would be in the building, we felt as though they need to remain in the “background”.

Overall I’m glad we used the facility, just felt invaded. Almost “bossed around”....

By far, worst place in Crawford County to have a wedding or reception or any type of gathering for that matter.. The lady that manages the place micromanages the entire event to the way she wants it done to her expectations no matter what the wedding parties plans are.. she will insult you and your guest along with your children. My cousin recently had her wedding and reception there and it was completely ruined. things had to be done the way she wanted them done when she wanted them done. It did not matter to the schedule. I have also spoke with other people who had events there they said the same thing She completely ruins the events.. Do not by far waste your time with this place your event will be ruined No...
