We have had Farmhouse build multiple items for our house. We purchased our house 5 years ago knowing we were going to do a huge renovation in the future. In the meantime we needed a garage/recycle unit to hide our garbage/recycle cans as well as a small table to put in our very small kitchen and a tv stand with a built in fire place. Farmhouse made all of these pieces for us and we couldn’t have been happier with the product that was built. Fast forward a few years, we started the search for companies to fulfill our renovations. We had many companies come out and one actually told us to get what we wanted we would need to tear down our current house. I knew it wasn’t that drastic, but needed to find other companies that could see my vision. Along with being great at what they do, the other major deciding factors for us to use Farmhouse Furniture was they were locally owned and also support local organizations. Farmhouse Furniture came to our house to see first hand what my vision was. They got started on a design for my kitchen and came back to our house again to measure once our walls were down. With several changes to the kitchen plans they were able to create my vision to be exactly what I wanted. Farmhouse Furniture has also done 3 bathroom vanities (all different sizes), mudroom hall tree, all of our interior solid wood doors and a custom size desk for an office (on a short timeline). James and Nathan have been easy and professional to work with throughout the many different projects. We referred two families to this place in the past year, based on our good experience 3 years ago. We also had some kitchen stools made for ourselves.

I am not sure what happened but the experiences we're terrible for the following reasons.

For the kitchen stools, there were paint drips on all chairs instead of sanding and re painting. It feels like sloppy craftsmenship, like not staining the whole piece on edges and underneath visible areas.

The cabinet our friends ordered wasn't anything like the pictures she sent, and she proved that when she went to pick it up, they agreed, but offered to do nothing.

The bar, was not done to specs that our daughter and husband purchased of which they paid $1k for, and that's a lot, it should be what they want. They sent them away with a can of stain, and a few bucks and now my husband is fixing it up for them in the garage.

The kicker, they make you pay the entire amount up front, and they give no refunds at all, under any circumstances.

The customer does not come first...

We really gave these folks a run for their money. We had a general idea in mind for how we wanted our custom office and dining room to look, but didn't know entirely where to start. We visited the showroom, had multiple phone calls and email exchanges with James and his staff and changed our minds on things about fifty times, and they took the time to help us and make recommendations AND still delivered on time, as promised. I cannot believe how well everything turned out. We have a new (HUGE) dining room table with chairs and benches, and the most beautiful office with a custom desk, cabinets and a large bookshelf. We still have to get in and order our coffee table, time just hasn't allowed yet, but we'll continue to use this company for any custom furniture needs in the future, as well as referring everyone we know to them.
