I wouldn’t even give this place one star, I have a condition seeing specialist for.. was seeing doctor’s at Indiana they were great said I should see a specialist, first time I was sent to this ER the doctor was very rude to saying the new pcp I was going to see mind you was my first time ever seeing him doctor first said he isn’t even a real doctor proceed to tell me that my GI doctor wouldn’t never send someone to their Er cause they know him over my side pain, so next time I was sent this time GI doctor send a letter electronically to the ER, to the pain kept continuing, that doctor actually cared, third time my pcp sent me for the same pain blood work inflammation was high constant pain, the doctor accused of pain seeking, saying everyone around this town is just pain seeking, finally spoke to a attorney who advised me to speak to head of Hosptial which I did, everything was taken care of, everything was going good for since September last two day’s I been in nothing but pain and we all know why, yesterday was a Sunday so everything was close as to the doctor’s office, Pittsburgh doctor told me to get to the nearest hospital they could hear the pain, get there yesterday with very high blood pressure which I took screenshots of everything, told the Er doctor the back story of everything how the head of Hosptial knows what I been threw he was very nice, she said f the CEO and said his name I don’t work for him then proceeded to ask me since I have pain in my belly which it is not has to deal with my side that before working in the Er she specialized in a field were women who have been sexually abused or abused domestically that is why they have pain which I never was , I started to ball even more cause I was already in pain still blood pressure was high and felt grossly violated by this women doctor to were once again I had to contact an attorney cause this hosptial surrounding my care, contacted the head of hospital got someone else today called hour’s ago with no phone call returned I took screenshots of the report my blood pressure from the pain which they should have in the condition I was in and I kept everything, had visiting nurses come to my house before trying to get ahold of doctors and have in messages from the nurses that the doctors are trying to lie saying she never called them but she could show her call log and how long she spoke to someone I have kept everything. I will never return to this hospital again and wouldn’t wish this on anybody. I will be speaking to my attorney further as too I even seen a lady on TikTok I don’t even know in front of the Indiana hospital and how she was treated by their Er doctor and her pain must be from depression and how the doctor cancel all her orders to see if she was truly ok. This hospital does not care about you at all!!! I tried to talk to the head of hospital with no return after being violated all because of pain and the lies she put in the file. I also have proof of the lies enough is enough with this hospital not caring about you other then a paycheck. So many bad reviews on this ER department and all they can say sorry this and that , no thank you that why I kept every evidence I had to for patient neglect the violating me in way no doctor never have in their life and try blame the pain on something that never happen or did I ever go threw, so again sitting here in pain never heard from the head of hospital that their own ER doctor said f him I don’t work for him, I kept everything for a reason they try and cover negligence to their patients they do not even treat. I’m so disgusted and appalled but this female doctor. That is abusive behavior, to say something like that when labs scans all show something is wrong. Hour’s later still no call but atleast I can see I am not the only one and this law firm heard from many people about this hospital and horrible reviews saw the lady TikTok to now a female doctor violating a patient by assuming since your a women you was In a domestic violence as a child or adult or molested. On 2/5/19, I had an outpatient procedure at IRMC. Due to the hospital policy I was expected to pay a portion of what they estimated the cost to be. Even though I have wonderful insurance I was told if I didn’t prepay my procedure would not be scheduled. I find this policy to be ridiculous, but again wanted my trusted doctor to operate so I moved forward. I asked the billing department to explain the charges but they could not. I blindly paid the amount of $341 on 1/23/19 and was provided a credit card receipt via mail. It showed the total and date processed but that was all. I used my health care spending account to cover this cost. Because this was not something they could verify I need a detailed receipt so my card was not suspended. I tried on 3 different occasions to obtain this receipt and was not successful. I received another copy of the payment receipt once, another time, I was told my information had not yet processed, and the third was told it would be mailed out. This was on February 22. I finally received that receipt (which was the wrong document) on March 11. I requested it be faxed to me but due to HIPAA was told this was not an option. Since this is my own personal information I was unclear as to the HIPAA violation especially when in the process of getting pre-registered I received 4 phone calls. Each time I was given information for a man that was not my husband, down to the address and cell number. I corrected this the first time it was reviewed with me in error and had to do so 3 more times. I again updated this in person while onsite for a pre-op requirement and overheard the staff talking about how that was the tenth time that day there was a mix-up with someone’s personal information. I understand there is a new computer system in place, but as a consumer, I have a simple ask. I made a payment for a service and should receive a detailed receipt. I don’t think that is asking too much. The other concern is the personal information. It was troubling that it took so many attempts to have my emergency contact updated.
My last attempt was calling the office of Steve Wolfe, the CEO of IRMC. I worked with his assistant Cindy, who was great. She was able in 2 days to provide me with a receipt that my health care spending account would accept. However, it should not take so much effort. Also, I have yet to receive a breakdown of how the $341 payment was divided. I am now receiving bills from the hospital from various departments. It is confusing to know if I am overpaying when I have never received a detailed account of how the money was dispersed.
While I had a very simple procedure and am irritated and frustrated with the number of attempts it has taken me to accomplish a very simple request, I can only imagine how this process could impact someone with a serious medical condition that maybe doesn’t have the health or stamina to continue to follow up with numerous requests.
It's no wonder that health providers, doctors and nurses, are choosing to leave this facility. Long gone are the days where someones well-being outweighed the cost of doing business especially at IRMC where if you can't pay a portion of the cost upfront without any detailed billing or statement then your procedure does not occur.
I am outraged at the administration portion of this facility. The fact that this policy of prepayment is even in place is ludicrous. IRMC should focus on compensating their health care workers (doctors and nurses) more than the administration. I will tell you that the only reason I ever considered using IRMC was due to the great people that were going to care for me. I did have exceptional care from each doctor and nurse that cared for me that day.
My reason for providing this review is in hopes the hospital would reconsider the prepayment policy for those who have insurance coverage. Due to the administrative policies and requirements, I would not recommend...
Read moreWhere do I begin?!? Bilateral knee replacements. The anesthesiologist asked if I wanted a nerve block. I told her absolutely since I've had 3 prior shoulder surgeries, NOT HERE THANK GOD!! Well, the one on the left was not a problem. When she POORLY attempted to put the right one in, she couldn't find the nerve. So what does she do, jabs me with the needle anyway, and moves it around and around until she THINKS has the nerve. Well now, I'm still in Hell Hospital because they can't control the pain levels. My right thigh (NOT the knee) can't even be touched due to the pain. NOW let's talk about the nurses fresh out of 5th grade!!! Shift change the first night, I waited over an hour for pain medications. I was in excruciating pain, tearing up, and basically screaming because of the pain. Again, I've had 3 prior major shoulder surgeries and you're NOT SUPPOSED TO CHASE THE PAIN. I "called" the nurse. She comes in and tells she's busy doing something else. WELL FIND SOMEONE WHO CAN AND WILL HELP ME!! She wasn't the only nurse on that shift and for her to tell me right after double knee replacements that she's busy and she be with me when she can?! Let the patient lie there in excruciating pain!! Then this group here tonight, OMG!!! The one nurse came in to give me a regular medication, trazodone, through my IV. She shoves the needle into my iv and forcibly pushes the medicine through so fast, that it literally bubbled up under my skin!! It burnt like I was being branded!!! THEN, she tells me, she's going to have get her supervisor to put in ANOTHER IV, becauae mine was leaking. Ill give you all ONE guess as to why!?!?!? They've only did vitals once, at the beginning of tonight's nightmare! They haven't brought me ANYTHING for pain on my regular schedule!! I had to "call them" and they acted like I was bothering them and disrupting a fun game of tidly winks. So I'm lying here at 349am, WANTING AND NEEDING SLEEP, but I'm in sooo much pain and actually kind of scared of this place!! Oh, and at least the other shifts would empty my piss bottle, but NOT tonight's shift! I might as well wore a depends and pissed myself because the bottle is full and is ready to pour out!! PLEASE I BEG ANYONE, DO NOT COME TO INDIANA REGIONAL MEDICAL HOSPITAL!!! GO TO THE NEXT STATE, IF YOU HAVE TO. THIS PLACE IS A TORTURE CHAMBER!!!!)
Well, well....it CONTINUES!! I have increased swelling, redness, isolated pain. My Dr ordered a Doppler Test to check for blood clots. So, living by myself, the lady from the Dr's office tells me to go to the ER whenever I can get a ride, which was around 445pm. I go to the ER, register, and wait and wait and wait. Finally I'm called back to a room. The physician on duty comes in and says, oh its too late. We don't do this test this late!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! He tells me to come back tomorrow!!
