The owner NEVER shows up there, knows NOTHING AT ALL about the exotic pets she sells. Doesnât even attempt to make things right. I bought a sugar glider there. The only instructions I got was they eat this and fresh fruit and vegetables if you want. THAT WAS ALL OF THE INSTRUCTIONS I RECEIVED. After mine passed within 48 hours of my purchase I believe. I did some research I found out that theyâre not supposed to be alone. Theyâll self mutilate, severely depressed and even chew their own legs off. Theyâre not meant to be alone. I was bawling. The smell inside this shop has been so unbearable that your eyes burn and you end up walking out of there smelling like urine. They got some new employees thatâs trying to clean it up. But nobody is properly trained to work with exotic animals. All the owner cares about is getting her money. Itâs as sad as the dog pound. If the lady named Wanda wasnât there constantly cleaning I wouldnât have been able to bear it. She was in constant motion. I called and was under the impression that the sugar glider would be replaced and I pay for a second one. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN AND DENA ONLY CARES ABOUT HER MONEY. She obviously doesnât have any concerns whatsoever about any of the animals there. Iâve been in there before and there were so many rabbits in a cage that they were literally stacked up on top of each other. I hadnât seen a pet store that bad since they shut down the one in pike county. I donât think pike county is as bad as this one though. Itâs disgusting and very depressing. If you show up there and plan on spending any time inside, pray that the Wanda lady is working. Otherwise the ammonia & filth smell is just too much to handle. Donât get me started on the poor puppies in the back. I just found out that a person who had bought a glider a few years ago FED IT SUGAR AND WATER UNTIL IT STARVED TO DEATH! If youâre not willing to put in a little effort to know the basics about the animals, you should never be allowed to sell or own them. I wished someone could do something about this disgrace of...
Read moreI would not recommend this place to anyone. This is my first time writing a review for ANYTHING but this is unacceptable. The store is not clean AT ALL and smells absolutely horrendous. My boyfriend and I purchased two female (researched how to and double checked the gender ourselves) Guinea pigs 5 weeks ago after doing a good amount of research. We honestly feel as if we ârescuedâ the poor pigs from this place as there were two large (neglected looking) birds in cages behind them dropping seeds on their heads. We have now gone from 2 Guinea pigs to 6 because one of them was pregnant and we are 99% the other one is as well. The conditions in this place were horrendous with cages and animals shoved in every corner. With this review plus others Iâve seen this is not the first time something like this has happened. The owners clearly do not understand proper care for these animals. Donât waste your time shopping here even if itâs the only thing close (we...
Read moreDo not short at this garbage shack. I bought an axolotl from here back in August and these fools had no clue about anything regarding their care. They shouldnât sell these animals they donât know how to care for themselves. Right after I bought my little dude I went online to do the most basic of research to find A. Tanks need to be cycled for months before you can keep an axolotl. And B. The food they feed them, and told me to feed them have NO nutritional value, and itâs the equivalent of feeding them candy. And C. They need cold water, not âroom temperatureâ. I went back in because I was in desperate need of a plant and he acted surprised that mine was still alive due to how often they get calls complaining about them dying. He spoke to me as if everyone else was stupid and me and him were intellectuals. Iâm reality he was the stupid one and I was the smart one, because I didnât listen to a word he said and did proper research, unlike him. Do...
