As it seems I had the same experience everyone else has. I can not believe the way I was treated. Mind you, I have worked in the medical field for 7 years now I have a good Idea of how people SHOULD be treated, and now I know how they should not be thanks to this hospital.. I was traveling for school and was two hours away from my home when I needed unexpected care, I was placed in a dirty room, While nearly in tears of pain, As they half cleaned the room I awaited for care. during my 6.5 hours of being in the hospital I received no explanation or plan of care. As I know an ER is for emergency's, This happened on a Saturday and it was severe pain, Enough pain to make me pass out while sitting down. I felt I was treated as if I was faking my pain. My fiancé (who drove two hours from our home to come to me) and I had finally had enough and decided it was time to head home and receive actual care elsewhere. They proceeded to call me twenty minutes later accusing me of leaving the hospital with an IV. I NEVER received an IV the entire 6.5 hours I was there what so ever. I wish I would've received a name of the lady that called because out of all the disrespect that I was shown that day, hers alone was enough for this review. She proceeded to make the comment "With you being in Nursing school you should know you can not leave a hospital with an IV due to the chance of drug use, I will need to check your chart" Before calling and treating someone horrid, why would you as a medical professional not have all of your information together and already check the chart prior to calling? SO MANY issues. I would rather Drive 2 hours in miserable pain than to ever receive care from this facility. As I sat there in tears four times in the period that I was there in severe pain. My fiancé even went to tell them once that I was "miserable" again... He was answered with "She is hurting again?!" as the nurse/CNA (nobody was wearing a badge to be identified) walked off ignoring him.. we seen her 40 minutes later after the pain had reduced dramatically back to tolerable. This is just very little of my total experience.... I received care elsewhere, was took seriously and all questions, labs, and imaging was answered in a very timely manner. JUST FYI for the facility. I do plan on contacting the hospital to inform someone of my experience, with hopes that they care enough to help...
Read moreWould not recommend this hospital at all. I may come here for a bandaid or something minor but if u are in need of help in a life threatening situation your best bet would to be to go on to UK or Virginia or any other major hospital out there. I have a heart condition which had caused me to have to use a LVAD. It is a device I carry with me to pump the left side of my heart. I came in here other day needin a swab taking to check for infection around my driveline site and they was utterly clueless as to what to do. I basically walked out very disappointed and confuse and went back home to Lexington to get better treatment. I was on a trip to visit family and had to cut it short due to this hospital''s inability to treat me. I had had it done done before and even tried to explain to them how to test my wound and they still would not help me due to being scared and not knowing what to do I'n this situation. I hope they can upgrade this hospital and maybe hire some experienced Doctors and nurses and get up to date and today's modern treatment to help people in emergency situations. I hope this had helped you and them, have a blessed...
Read morePitifulâŠ.My boyfriend was In here a week for no reason, just kidney stones. He was in 9/10 pain and it took them 2 hours after time to get his pain medicine. Staff acted like he shouldnât have it, even with his chronic pain. They did not change his sheets the whole week he was there. Water and air both went off the last two nights, it was miserable. If they hadnât taken his wallet against his will, he wouldâve left then. ID resident had no idea what he was talking about. Every time I called to check, even with the password, they told me basically nothing and especially day shift was just plain rude. Night shift Pushed his IV medicine dangerously fast. Gave him an IV sleep medicine after 6 days of no sleep that got him loopy and he didnât remember that entire night, even calling me. Exact same breakfast every single day. Super duper understaffed. Please give Nikki and Sabrina on day shift on the 2nd floor a raise because they were the...
