Paramount Antique Mall — Local services in Wichita

This is truly such a little gem of a store. I found so many cute things and would've bought so much more... If my friend and I hadn't been followed throughout the entire store, and had an employee ask to take my items to the front... Yet she didn't see the need to ask anyone else that. This employee also seemed to be super interested in making sure the cases with locks on them were secured... But only in the aisles we were looking around in. Not any other aisle, with or without people in them. My friend and I don't steal, and we were browsing like any other customer in there. We were careful with anything we examined and always put items right back if we decided against purchasing. We have a huge appreciation for antique items and love going to stores like this. I'm not sure what the deal was, as we gave no reason nor indication that we had ill intentions. We're both minorities and were the only minorities in there, so it always worries me that people will treat us like we're hooligans or something and stereotype. And I believe that is exactly how we were treated, or so it seemed. Probably won't be returning because of this, which is extremely sad because it was...

Great store was in there 7 hours. We keep finding unique items that we had been looking for. We would have are arms full and an employee would come buy and take are items to front. We went to check out and 3 of our 26 items seemed to disappear. Of course we didn’t have to pay but they we’re gone. We we’re told we had so many items that it was going into the next customers area. All I know is it was gone. It’s a great store but I would suggest to check out at least every 6 items or you may loose them. I would have rated them a 5, but missing 3 items (an oil lamp, glass ginger bottle and vintage matches). Had to drop it to a 3. Returned on July 16, 2022 same thing again. Took a large galvanized pot with lid because it would not fit in shopping cart gave them my name then continued to shop for 3 more hours went to checkout and my item was sold to another Craig. We drive 5 hours to shop and every time we loose items taken to front desk with our name. Guess we’ll have to purchase an item at a time and take it to the car. And might change name to Puddntang . First time going to this place. My daughter wanted me to check it out. There were lots of booths and interesting things to look at. I was actually looking for something particular, but ended up not buying one single item, because I didn't not like the fact that we were FOLLOWED by employee Melody or whatever her mane was. There were several people in the store and she did not approach them, she did however follow my daughter and I the whole time we were there. There were a few pricey items I would have purchased, however due to the disrespect I experienced, I decided not to spend money there. I was very offended and wanted to say something to her, but held my tongue. I run a business and Never profile anyone, based off of race. I will NEVER visit this establishment again. We ended up going to the smaller antique store and had a wonderful experience and I bought several items. Thanks for saving me from impulse buying that wooden...
