Ever since the fire, there was alot of damage done to the car, and weve spent the last year going back thru the car and fixing alot of the issues and damage and making the car better than ever before. with the help of scott and steve Eldreth at Eldreth automotive. big thanks to them for the help fixing the damaged. they did an outstanding job. the car has been I'll mannered, and sometimes not enjoyable at all to drive so johnathan decided recently to purchase a Holley efi hp engine mgt system for the car to allow gor better tunability and better driveability. ( This was uncharted territory for John but he had heard alot of great things about Holley and wanted to give it a try ) once the kit was installed there was some issues that left john and even Holley efi tech dept scratching their heads. even though Holley tech support did do their best to help this setup is not commonly found on 2v setups so there isnt very much data out there to go off of. #2vproblems. so at this point we decided Carolina Performance and Dyno. They were eager to help and couldn't wait to get their hands on the car. With the help from Scott in his awesome team at Carolina performance in dyno They were able to diagnose and fix every single issue and lay down a solid tune on the car. We drove it for the 1st time today with this new set up and the drive ability is amazing. Not a single hiccup, flutter, or miss, Absolutely perfect drive ability. The performance is just as impressive and smooth. These guys are dedicated to making sure I'm 100% satisfied with this car and they have done a top notch job. We couldn't be happier. Thanks to everyone at Carolina...
Read moreI took my 2007 Yukon Denali 6.2 here after a rebuilt engine was installed with vvt and dod deleted. They were easy to contact on the initial phone call about the vehicle. Everything changed once the vehicle was dropped off. I asked about receiving a quote for cam install. It took 11 days to get the quote from the time I dropped the vehicle off for a simple tune, whenever I would call asking about my vehicle I was always told that he wasn’t there and would call me back but he never did. I finally got fed up and emailed them ten days after I dropped my vehicle off and then they finally responded. I didn’t know at the time but when you delete vvt it requires a different cam sensor harness which the vehicle did not have when I brought it. They informed me and told me everything was good in the tune and the vvt was disabled, but I needed to get the harness to fix the check engine light. I drove the vehicle home and noticed it was running worse than when I brought it. I plugged my computer into the vehicle with hp tuners to read the tune file and found the vvt was never turned off, I emailed them asking about it and he says that he turned it off. I know for a fact he couldn’t have turned the vvt off because the vehicle would not start with vvt disabled and the wrong cam sensor harness. I tried to see if he would be honest with me and he was not. I definitely will not be back and would advise anybody reading this to think twice. Honesty goes a long way in the automotive business and if he lies to a repeat customer I don’t want anything to do with...
Read moreI will start this review off by saying that the people who work there are all friendly and not hard to get in contact with. I was greeted friendly and they all were down to earth. With that being said I had a 2013 LS3 Corvette tuned here just shortly after a complete HCI build and decided to give them a chance as I have never used them. They were responsive during the tuning process and was on time with everything. However the car under-performed and I expressed this concern with them to be met with “one of the parts just didn’t flow great”. I expected the car to turn out around 500-520whp, and they finished the car out at 486whp and 449ftlb. It also had a terrible misfire/breakup at 1800-2100rpm. Multiple personal datalogs and favors asked later, we found the car to run lean through the 1800-2100 rpm range. Nothing dangerous, just a lot of room for improvement. After checking the car over again thoroughly, we went and got the car tuned again by PCM Of NC out of mooresville who I have used in the past. The car cleaned up and made 500whp and 473ftlb. 13whp and 24ftlb increase along with major drivability improvements. Carolina Performance finished my tune within a day, whereas PCM Of NC has taken multiple days of tuning to ensure drivability is as good as a big cam car can be. Again, good people work here and I do not think it was intentional. I am just leaving a honest review for everyone bringing there car here for tuning. If your car under performs, there’s a chance there is room for...
