As someone who has ridden at these stables for years now, THE BEST HORSES YOUâLL FIND. I rarely ride horses anywhere due to the fact Iâm highly scared of them, but I would trust any of the horses this place puts me on! Theyâre well trained, know the trail well, and are awesome to even put a 5 year old on! I seen a negative review on here that makes my blood boil,
âWhen we arrived, nobody was there. We were the first to sign in. After about 10 minutes, there were more people waiting behind us and signing in for the horse riding. When the owner showed up with two other guys, they started to let all the white people behind us go in first. We were not allowed to go in until every single white person was on their horses! When finally we were allowed in, we were asked to ride behind all the white guys and we were arranged to ride on smaller horses. The whole time we couldn't hear anything the tour guy was talking about because we were all behind everyone else.â
This place takes reservations, therefore Iâm sure the people who was put infront of yâall already had reservations, which means they would go ahead of anyone who shows up and just signs up, I highly doubt it had anything to do with race. Also the way it works horse wise is, bigger people go on the biggest horses (weight distribution), and the horses go in a specific order, yaknow how some people donât like other people, that works the same way with horses, also line up wise, children always go upfront so that the worker riding in the front can keep eyes on the children for safety reasons, then the horses go in their regular order, one behind another (the trail has rules so that the horses donât pass each other/ride beside one another) due to safety regulations on the trail. There is also another worker who rides in the very back to keep all the horses in line, and doing what theyâre supposed to be doing. If you would have listened in the back you would have realized you had another tour guide to talk to!
Overall amazing horses, amazing workers, and an awesome place to spend time at. I highly recommend it to anyone who is horse shy, but wants to have an...
Read moreArrived with my wife to go horseback riding scheduled for 2:00 and we arrived even 10 minutes early to make sure that we didn't miss it. My wife suffers from a medical condition called IBS in which she cannot always control when she has to go to the bathroom it is not something that can be fixed it is a permanent issue. My wife asked the man if there was anywhere she could go to the bathroom and the man said no there's nowhere nearby and a lady next to us said that the pool has a restroom we can use and the man said no that's still a mile (wich it is not a mile at all) and that we would not be able to make it. Knowing that most facilities have an employee restroom or something of the likes seeing that my wife had medical reasoning she asked him again if she could please use the restroom and the employee, named Joe, pointed abruptly and rudely towards the woods in front of over 20 other customers and told my wife that she can go in the the bushes and then proceeded to walk away from us. I in all my time in Kentucky have never been offended or insulted like I have at this stable. I would like to note that this stable is only contracted through the park and they are not a representation of the park. The park and all of its staff are very nice and extremely accommodating so are most of the people of Kentucky but Joe of the Cumberland horsefall rides is extremely rude and showed little to no concern for my wife's medical issues. I can't speak for the experience nor can I speak for the other employees that work there but due to this one employee we could not stomach coming back. I'm sure without Joe this horse ride experience is...
Read moreAlways fun to ride horses, but as someone who is in the veterinary field & also used to care for a horse that I would also ride/work, it is less fun when you see their enclosure and how badly they donât want to be doing that because itâs the same path all day, everyday with different people and they just get tied up in the same spot all day. Their enclosure has mud which is good but it is small & not a lot of grass. Horses love space and love to run, roll in mud and eat grass. I read large and small animals behavior all day for a living. My horses attitude was clearly showing that he did not want to be doing that. He did not want to do the hills and was scared the slippery, rocky puddles with my weight on him & when he went slow the probably 16yr old leading us would whip him when he clearly wasnât comfortable riding fast up a hill with me on him. I think with a bigger wider enclosure, different trails that are less rocky/slippery to have some different stimulation in their minds each day would help. Letting them run in comfortable ground too when they arenât working would help. It was a very sad experience. Thereâs a difference in working your horse that does the same type of job everyday but in different experiences then âworkingâ your horse that does the same thing all day everyday, in the same spot and when they arenât working they are just tied up or left in their SMALL enclosure. I do believe someone should...
