DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A PERSON OF COLOR Deserves less than one star.
As soon as we walked in we were treated with the most insincere tone possible. I don’t mean to pull the race card but it definitely seemed interesting when a white person entered and how much politeness was directed towards them instead while I was soon ignored shortly after. I understand if you know each other very well, of course you’d be more friendly, but we weren’t even given an ounce of respect at this salon. They trimmed barely an inch off my hair and washed my hair, this was worth $70 apparently. Interesting. Then I received highlights that are hardly visible in my hair??I won’t argue and say that the prices should be cheaper because I understand that services like these are normally expensive for a reason, but I didn’t get good service. While all the other clients were white, hairdressers would interact with them- smiles, laughs on their faces and all. Except for the two of us (persons of color). No matter how much you dislike a customer, you DO NOT have the right to show how annoyed you are while doing our hair. I’m so confused, what did we do to deserve this?? My mom politely asked one of the stylists if she could get a bit of coloring in her hair only to be met with a hoarse response, “NO. I don’t have time.” AND THATS FINE… we just didn’t deserve to be talked to like this. A simple “sorry the service would take too long and i have other appointments after you so i cannot” WOULD BE THE BARE MINIMUM. Makes me wonder if we’d be talked to like this if we were white? Not to mention, we asked twice if we could get our eyebrows done… she said she’d check on it and never did… I don’t know, maybe you think this isn’t racist, but if you’ve never felt what it’s like to be on the other side, to feel so excluded and uncomfortable being there you don’t have the right to say if it is or isn’t. I am a person too and i deserve to be treated equally no matter the color of my skin. Are we still in the 1950s?? I don’t understand why this had to happen. I felt incredibly uncomfortable and unsafe in this salon. Nobody deserves to treated like this, do yourself a favor and book an appointment with a different salon, anything is better than the service here. My only hope is that they read this review and instead of justifying their actions, take this review with an open mind and work on an attitude change while reflecting on your actions. Thanks...
Read moreI had such a great experience at CARMA Salon & Spa! You walk in and feel like home. The stylist are friendly and warm. The salon inside is absolutely beautiful! I went in for a big transformation. Literally cut about 7 inches off! I also wanted to soften my highlight. Anna my stylist made me feel comfortable and excited! Afterwards I decided to wax my eyebrows which I was really nervous about because the first time I ever tried it years ago, I ended up with a breakout on both eye lids! Ivana calmed my nerves and I ended up with beautiful, smooth eye brows! I recommend visiting this salon the first chance you get! Can’t...
Read moreI have been searching for a place for my girlfriend after our move from New Hampshire. This is the 4th place we tried and we finally found a winner! My gf had Taylor as a stylist and she did an amazing job and answered all of her questions about our future appointments and coloring and options. We just got a cut and style and dry but we will for sure be booking a second appointment and doing some color and extensions. I highly recommend this place and for the men waiting there is keno...
